I did it! I lost it yesterday! There were ten of us looking and we never saw it come down!
Should I report my stupidity to anyone? My name was in it and i suppose if they bother to unbolt the wing they will see it and call!

I believe that would fall under the jurisdiction of the FAA. . .
If you see a dark blue sedan pull up in front of your house and two guys get out wearing dark blue polyester suits and mirror sunglasses. . . . .
RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure it is necessary to report it, but, I would. The AMA is not going to take any kind of action against you. On the other side, you might wind up getting the plane back because you reported it. If someone finds it, and calls the AMA, they may be able to hook you up. Accidents need to be reported. I am not sure this qualifies as an accident. I just can't see any harm being done if you do report it.
If, on the other had, it did damage when it came down, your going to be contacted and you will certainly want to report that to the AMA. Why not do it now?

YEAH that would suck! Our field is in line with some jet traffic but they usually are flying 20,000 + up I think I would have run out of gas well before then. I wish I could have at least seen it crash or land. Not knowing has a knot in my stomach.

If you lose it in a cloud again, immediately you lose sight of it, chop the throttle and give full up elevator and right rudder.
The plane should go into a spin, and a spinning plane is easier to see as it comes out of the cloud due to the motion, and the fact that the wings are much more likely to reflect the sun.
Just my 2c!
Sorry 'bout the loss.

I called the AMA and they said they didn't need to know and that there was nothing for them to do unless there was actually a claim made from the incident.

Out of curiosity, what was "IT" and what were you doing?
Usually when I put one into a cloud deck, I start a spin and chop the throttle so I can see it before it goes "splat". I said USUALLY!

Up elevator and full rudder huh???
Sounds a little extreme but I guess it is better than turning off the transmitter and going home!

I know guys that incorporate the clouds into their show when its extreamly foggy outside. I have seen several guys go up into the clouds and when you see them reappear they are in an inverted flat. It looks neat

Chances are,,, there's nothing left to unbolt and the remains probably don t resemble a RC Airplane any longer,,, R.I.P.

Been there... done that... Didn't want the T-shirt.
I got my Monarch back though. Monarch wouldn't spin, but it would spiral down enough to let the sun reflect off the wings to let me find the plane.
My case... I had the Airtronics Monarch (6 foot wingspan powered sailplane) powered with a Cox TeeDee .051 with a 2 ounce tank.
I'd routinely get the Monarch high enough that the 6 foot wing looked smaller than a gnat, and let the fuel run out that high, and glide it back down after gliding for up to 45 MINUTES.
I have no idea how high the Monarch ever got, but I know that the plane looked MUCH BIGGER at landing the one time when the wind picked up and I ended up landing the plane (according to the car's odometer) 1.4 MILES from thw spot I was standing at while flying.
Figuring a fairly steady shrinkage of apparent size, I'm guessing that some of the Monarch flights may have gotten to over 7,000 feet AGL. based on the fact that 1 mile is 5,280 feet, and when I landed the plane 1.4 miles away from where I was standing, the plane at landing looked almost twice as large as it looked overhead at peak altitude.
