I noticed that too...it is the holiday season though. With any luck someone will start a hate thread about some aspect of RC flying soon and get us going again

I find it refreshing. Threads here have a tendency to degrade rapidly, get WAY off topic, and become a ready avenue for personal attacks.

Maybe everyone is off building ...

Merry Christmas.

I can't believe the AMA isn't doing something that pisses off the bottom feeders club.

Its possible they had a break up in their marriage during the stressful times of the holidays. When a husband says things like "iIm done with you" it has a 2 fold point. That the wife is wrong and that she should leave for good since its over. It could be that they are at home alone drunk after using such deceptions as "Im done with you" - meaning its all your fault...

Heck...You need to keep up! They sent out an extra AMA card recently...[X(]

Seriously, never figured out why its OK to cast aspersions about members here being "bottom feeders"...Oh, I guess its because AMA has...and that makes it acceptable...

How does one combat that bias???

That label was created by, and worn proudly, by a self proclaimed group of AMA critics. Most notably and originally, Stickbuilder Seems so long ago now ....

Wrong...that label was created by a top-feeding columnist in the AMA rag... The "self proclaimed group" as you call it, is the results a some of the guys here having some fun with the "term" while protesting it a bit... That's how it really is/was...

Do prime bottom feeders like me get a say in the matter? Oh, I should have known better than to make that statement! That will cost me big time.

Mmmmm, no. Right. The original statement "I can't believe the AMA isn't doing something that pisses off the bottom feeders club." refers to the named club not the term used by the writer of the article to describe internet trolls.

Mmmmm, no. Right. The original statement ''I can't believe the AMA isn't doing something that pisses off the bottom feeders club.'' refers to the named club not the term used by the writer of the article to describe internet trolls.

The label was created by Greg Hahn in attempt to disparage those that dared offer positive critique of AMA operations.

A bit of the history:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_73...tm.htm#7303214

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=841102

The fact that some here took that label and attempted to turn it into a postive has obviously been lost on some.

The label "bottom feeder" as it relates to the forums of model aviation originated in an AMA colum... The "club"(not a label...comprised of members with such a "label') got its start here. That's exactly how it is... Spin it all you want to deflect AMA's culpability but the truth remains.

Bob.....Greg Hahn coined that term as it relates to those who have descending views about how the AMA is managed.
Don't try to twist this plain and simple truth into anything else.
If you don't like "dissidents" in your organization, there are many others you can join that have a zero tolerance for such.

Man, talk about revisionist history.
The article in question never mentioned AMA forums of any sort, never mentioned any views either way about how AMA is managed, or about anyone talking about AMA.
It was about how potential new modelers might view model aviation from the perspective of those posting on internet forums
concerning RC (specifically Futaba and Spektrum 2.4 radios which were fairly new at the time) products.
Please go back and re-read the article.
April 2008.

804....You really don't think Hahn's comments were aimed at this forum?.......
It's time you got some night vision goggles...........!!
Back in those days I used to see, "A walk in the park" [Greg Hahn] lurking this forum quite often.

Did you bother to go back and read it?
Again, it's about bashing products online, and
how that might affect those who don't know any better,
and how it might possibly affect the bottom line of the
companies whose products are being trashed.
You are making up the same junk now as then.

I read his article about "bottom feeders" at least twice back then.
No need to revisit it now.
Back in 2008 this forum was a minefield full of AMA related fiascos and Greg Hahn became a regular lurker here shortly before he came out with that infamous article.
Coincidence..?
Do you think that he would have actually complained about this forum specifically in print..?
In this PC, spineless, day and age..?
Give me a break.

Regardless of any interpretation it was very bad form to label anyone a "bottom feeder"... that infers something that only an idiot can't decipher. To defend it in any way is...err... let's just less than appropriate.
