With all those Motions to consider it's going to be a long meeting.

Have you attended one recently? They don't waste much time.

"YES" is the order of the day.

OTOH sometimes it gets very interesting, however one can usually figure the outcome within a couple miutes, even on the important ones

Excellent. I won't make it unless I should get nominated for President. [:@]

That is about the time I get up to my cabin in the U.P. of Michigan. Smallmouth are great on the Paint River. Catch and release over and over.

If I don't get a few Walleye, then some smallmouth fillets will wind up in the pan.

Will definitely be looking for your report.

"YES" is an easy answer when none of their constituents have seen the motions and so might have had a clue beforehand as to what issues are to be discussed and acted on until after it's a done deal. Doing business is so much easier when you run the only game in town.

Horrace,

Consent items are simply formalized recognition of previously agreed upon actions that make those activities public, documented, and defensible by the organization. That is the only reasonable way to confirm telephone conference decisions which are cheaper than much more regular meetings that would raise dues significantly. This method of operation is used by several different organizations and is a reasonable approach to getting things done quickly and in a cost effective manner while avoiding the autocratic moves some make.

I prefer that to the mushroom farmer approach or rich man's tax them all to pay for more meetings.

I guess you pays your money and makes your choices...

What am I missing. What is this to do with the AMA. I dont see anything that the AMA is stating they plan to perform that would effect any AMA member or the AMA as a whole. It states just what they plan to talk about.

I just see what this has to do with the AMA except they are having a meeting.

Crash, I don't think you missed anything. Same perfunctory boilerplate agenda that comes out every three months. Perhaps it is only sent out of long ingrained habit or to remind EC members that it's that time again for a meeting.......a club I belong to is growing old mirroring AMA, and the need for lists and reminders grows with that. Growing more familiar - in one club I belong to many of the guys appearing at the flying field only show up on meeting days, and only two of the five perpetual BoD members have been seen flying anything for several years. Just an observation and not a complaint. My grandson, the occasional noob that wants some assistance and I never have to wait for an open pilot station. We do stand down occasionally while some geezer that should long ago have moved on to garden trains is doing nonstop circles and touch-and-goes between crashes and going to meetings.

Be nice. The trick with circles and touch and goes is to see if you can stay under the height of the fence and inside the field without eating airplane. If you can do that regularly, you are a pilot. If not you crash just like the rest. So don't throw stones.

Write my DVP? Why on earth would I want to do that? He is not interested in what goes on in the State in which he resides, but yet he will travel to another State with an event and gush on what went on there. The State where he lives has a huge International event, but he never attends. I can't wait to vote for someone else when election time comes around.

No, our DVP never shows up to Florida Jets, Top Gun or Monster Planes. But let something happen in either Georgia or South Carolina and he's all over it.
