No, the federal agents simply run over you with tanks and burn your place down.

Well, if you have a large enough private, unregulated, militia, like Cliven Bundy, you have a get out of jail free card.

I was refering to a much earlier case where Janet Reno's people burned down the victims buildings, killing all, including a lot of children.

Investigators say that the fire was an inside job. Don't forget that those people had an awesome armory of grenades, assault rifles, hand guns, and even a 50 caliber machine gun. They were preparing for Armageddon.

Maybe law enforcement made a bad decision, but there were no good choices to pick from.

Likely a smoke or tear gas canister that got too hot. IMO the awesome armory was legal as they never used them against others. If Armageddon never came they likely would never use them.

Nope, the Branch Davidians set the fire themselves. And, you believe that everybody should have a 50 cal machine gun? The ATF didn't think so.

Just be able to pass the background check, work through a Class 3 licensed seller, submit the BATF paperwork and pay for the stamp. Machine guns, howitzers, tanks, etc. all can be owned by private citizens if you go through the process.

The AMA? I thought the thread title was:

We should all just quit fighting among ourselves and resign ourselves to our inevitable future on the reservation. Not enough men left to fight...just bunches of squaws here and there now.

Sorry Sir to burst your bubble; There were tanks coming in from the back side that really demolished things, including women and children trying to escape. There was an airplane that took pictures which was not a military airplane. I have the Tape. Janet Reno ordered the tanks in. Government takes care of its own. People like you, J.S., are government's bed fellows.
For someone that asked what does this have to do with AMA, well AMA thinks of itself as "government over aeromodeling".

There was one, count it one, armored vehicle with a ram affixed to the front end. Its purpose was to bash its way in and allow ATF agents to enter and seize the unlawful weapons. The fire was set by the Branch Davidian leadership. It caused the deaths and most serious damage. Don't forget, the Waco Whack-os where using these weapons to threaten in intimidate the ATF agents, and this was no Armageddon.

As far as this government thing goes. We know for certain that anarchy is a total failure, it becomes instant disastrous chaos. Our own national experiment in a government by the people for the people has lasted over 200 years. While it is indeed imperfect, the ability to correct and improve it is built into our constitution. It is up to us to go to the polls and make our voices heard. As for as the AMA being a government for model aviation, I suppose you could think of it that way. We are a club, with a charter, elected leaders and bylaws, that resembles a government.

They had their paperwork in order.

From Wikipedia.

Although the ATF preferred to arrest Koresh when he was outside Mount Carmel, planners received inaccurate information that Koresh rarely left it.[SUP][37][/SUP] The Branch Davidian members were well known locally and had cordial relations with other locals. The Branch Davidians partly supported themselves by trading at gun shows and took care always to have the relevant paperwork to ensure their transactions were legal.[SUP][38][/SUP] Branch Davidian Paul Fatta was a federal firearms licensed dealer and the group operated a retail gun business called the Mag Bag. When shipments for the Mag Bag arrived, they were signed for by Fatta, Steve Schneider, or Koresh. The morning of the raid, Paul Fatta and son Kalani were on their way to the Austin, Texas gun show to conduct business.[SUP][39][/SUP]

Well, I suppose that the transactions were legal, but they were building an unregulated militia led by a whack-0. That would make me nervous.

If you recall, the second amendment speaks of "well regulated militias".

Oh it made John She nervous, so the Feds should burn alive the women and children? ............................................ I guess he would advocate that the FAA enforcement agents should carry flame throwers.

Oh wait we have a Federal government led by a wack-O, sorta makes sense in a bizarro world.....

Frank

Just wondering
