Default I registered today! How are you marking your model aircraft?

Today I registered with the FAA. Now, how am I going to put my registration number in my models.

I'm not really a sharpie kind of guy so I came up with this, a tiny aluminum plate bearing my FAA Registration Number. The numbers were stamped in. Reminds me of a VIN Number in a car. I will whip up a bunch of these and glue them somewhere inside the fuselages of my planes. There is a watch in the photo for scale. The plate is about 3/16" by 1"

I mainly fly Piper Cubs so they will be easily visible without tools through the side door, compliant with the FAA's regs.

(I digitally erased some of the numbers, don't want you all stealing my number and flying your models with my head on the chopping block!)

Lets see what you all come up with!

I registered also I intend to put my number either inside my models or tape it to the outside with the number facing the inside so it can't be read unless the paper is removed from the model.

Clever idea SunDevilPilot! I plan on using my Dymo Labelmaker to print the numbers onto clear film, stick them under the stab or magnetic battery hatch. Won't be much larger than yours.

Who is going to print it very small with water
based ink on a piece of tissue, which is
loosely taped to the structure?

Maybe something like in the Da Vinci code?

I use a label maker and just slap them on over the old AMA number.

How symbolically defiant!

Could be a new demand for label makers, either new or for rent.

I plan to wait per the AMA's request. There is no rush to register and the AMA appears to be making headway with the FAA.

I am also honoring the AMA's request to hold off on registering.
I would like to know the specifics as to why they made this request, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I'm holding off also. If and when I'll probably just stick a slip of paper inside the fuse somewhere.

I especially want to hear what the FAA guy has to say at the AMA Expo next month (January 8,9,10) in Ontario, CA

The e-mail they sent was pretty clear as to why they were asking, and why they weren't going into minute detail about why. Good to see you're supporting them though.

I spotted the fake right off the bat. No picture of a drone.

Spoke to Callie at Callie Graphics and she is going to start making sheets of registration numbers. She said she could cut the font down to 1/4" tall.

Hold off, then crash the system on Jan. 19th. Just like Obamacare did.

What a creative and productive suggestion, that should help matters. Although you're suggestion is late, people wanted to that the first day that registration was open. The system was up and running for most of the day, some glitches here and there. No massive crash...darn?

https://analytics.usa.gov/

I have not seen the Registration link on the list since the first day it was up. Nice to see the NASA spot the station made the list though. Maybe it will spike again on Christmas...................................
