Default Horizon / AMA courting the EAA members with free memberships.

Coming soon EAA members will be offered a $20 off coupon on the Sportsman S and a years free AMA though Horizon Hobby. Nice to see a actual airplane being offered.

Just another strategic marketing partnership the AMA has entered into. Affinity marketing can be a powerful tool to get sales going, product awareness out there, etc etc. Waiting to see the complaints roll in regarding who is paying for the membership, how it will be a waste of money, how come we don't know who is paying for this, etc etc. Already see one complaint here already...lol.

Wonder if a company like say, PAU would ever consider offering to underwrite or donate an AMA membership to someone buying one of their aircraft.

I have spoken with EAA reps at a number of events and while we have never directly compared membership databases, I will bet there's a decent overlap.

I will say this, EAA is 100% on our side in our dealings with the feds.
