Frank Tiano for AMA President

Wow , really ? Your right about the meltdown , it appears to be happening right now on your end and I really wish you luck with that , 5 posts in under 10 minutes sure looks like a meltdown to me . Or is it like the old lady in the "I've fallen , and I can't get up !" commercials , but in your case it's "I'm wrong , and I can't shut up !" that we're seeing play out here ?

Not exactly an in depth interview, nice and friendly and jovial. Reminded me of Trump being interviewed by Sean Hannity.
My favorite question....is the AMA saveable? Hilarious.

I'll take a guess that one of the reasons is that it's still early. Tiano even said it himself, he's going to wait to spend money on ads (actually I don't recall if he's paying the other mags) or at least place the ads until October, since the election is in NOV. If Hanson is smart, and this is purely from a strategic standpoint, he'll do nothing but run on his reputation AND his name recognition. Yes, I know some aren't happy with his position on things, but he had a leg up on all the other candidates because of his previous tenure. He probably figures it can only hurt him to get into a Q and A and possibly screw up. Tiano has been the most vocal so far, for better or worse. Tougas has more name recognition than Williams I think, and certainly a bigger district, but even he hasn't been too vocal. I think it's up to both of them (Tougas and Williams) to get out there and press the flesh, get some name recognition out there, and beat the bushes for some publicity. Hanson and Tiano already have that luxury. I would be interesting after the election to see where the votes for the candidates came from, although I suspect we won't get that data, just the amount of votes. DId Tougas get less votes in his district and more from say, the FL area. DId Williams take the votes in District 1 where you would think he is better know, or perhaps not. Should be interesting.

I couldn't agree more. If you recall, I was the one who asked Ken to open the site threads to them in hopes they would come and answer some questions. I'm sure you would agree, the usual campaign statements (by all of them) are usually very generic, non specific, and to some degree vague on actual plans.

I find it discouraging that the other candidates (assuming your theories are correct) would not engage the public Q & A for fear of, "making a mistake". Isn't that why our candidates campaign? to get out there and let people know that they are THE person for the job? The thought of running for office, but not actively campaigning because they might, "make a mistake" is disturbing to me and does not instill a lot of confidence that they will be a leader I would want. What happens if they get voted into office and then, "make a mistake"?

Eric is doing a lot of Facebook and as far as I've seen is willing to engage in discussions there.
Frank is obviously huge on Facebook, he's a member here but usually reserves his posts for discussing events.
The other two aren't big electronic/social media types though I'm sure if you had any specific questions for them they would talk your ears off about advocacy either via email or phone, both have their contact info published in MA
