All of your conspiracy theories will be laid to rest.
I don't think they want that.

None of which matter when you are responding to the FAA or Congress. As much as you hate the AMA the FAA has been asking the AMA to do more, not less. Little has been spent on lobbying efforts.

That staff travel figure of 1 percent of budget sure stuck out, all those Avis rentals add up. Same with pens and yellow stickies from Staples. As members we should really dig in on those specific figures and see if the numbers add up. That's probably what's holding back the AMA from being greaterer.

That's a great idea...letting the IRS sort it out. I wonder if there's a form for that?

I believe there is an on-going IRS audit?

Yep. But who knows if they're looking at lobbying expenses. If they are great, if not, your idea to send it to them will help make sure they do look at it.

Tens of thousands here, tens of thousands there, a hundred thousand here, a hundred thousand there. Pretty soon we're talking real money!

I never said to send anything to the IRS, I said I would wait for them. When they do a general audit they check everything.

No sense taking any chances they missed it though...

There's got to be a form for it somewhere...

Lol.. apparently the folks at the IRS need help, they don't know how to review those matters. I believe someone has indicated he will be helping them out in that regard, I guess by giving the IRS documents already given to them...something like that.

There is. But they don't require it in triplicate. Single copy is fine. Don't have to look far either for examples of stuff that likely should have been included in the totals.

Well, as someone suggested, let the IRS sort it out. I'm sure they consider information from all sources, especially those complete with documentation.

Thats correct. What little they found, and they spent so much time they had to find something, was minor and even debatable, but over all it went extremely well. I'm told they were VERY thorough.

All things considered I think it's time to look at all the options as far as the magazine from raising advertising rates to frequency of publishing. Adjustments can and should be made to trim expenses.
There's always a better way.
Mike
