Does the AMA have a policy regarding fireworks at a chartered club site?
I searched the AMA web site but came up empty.
Thanks.

Hi OldScaleGuy ,

I have read pretty much every AMA directive and while I can tell you for certain it's not allowed to fire off any fireworks from a flying model aircraft* , I have never seen anything prohibiting fireworks at an AMA chartered club site . If it were me , I'd make sure the city or town where the field is located allows fireworks and if they do , I don't think the AMA should have a problem with it .

* AMA airshow team members can get special permission to do so , but us "rank & file" members can't be firing any bottlerockets from the wings if we want our insurance to remain in effect .

Happy Independence Day !

Your site owner would have more say than the AMA would as far as that goes.

The AMA Charters Clubs and really outside of the safety code had nothing to say about operation or even lay out of a site for that matter. They "suggest" some things but nothing more.

Exactly, if its not shooting from a model, the AMA wouldn't have any input on this, it would be up to your land owner or any local laws

Your welcome. One of our sites is outside the city limits ( where fireworks are permitted ) the club permits use of that site to the guys and their families for fireworks with the provision that they clean up any trash associated with shooting them off. So far no issues.
