FAA Update
The FAA has a new/updated site for sUAS info. Updated 16 May
In it is a link that will download a pdf listing all 190 plus FAA "Approved" fixed (AMA) recreational flying sites. FAA List of Approved RC sites
A quick scan reveals that none of those sites are allowed to fly above 400 feet (column H, ceiling). And many are 200 foot or less. One in Colorado is 50 feet and that is a soaring site. So much for that!
If your club isn't listed then it is either not approved or it is in class G airspace and as such has a 400 foot ceiling.
