Default Faa certificate renewal

Did I misread on the FAA website today. I am trying to renew my Small UAS Certificate today-It was $74.00 for three years-I want to say I remember paying $5.00 or so in 2016. I don't think I am going to renew and take my chances.

sounds like you were on the part 107, commercial ops site.

the recreational site is still just 5 bucks to renew, in it needs renewing. they extended the date to 2020 for most all of us.

Jim, its 5 dollars for 3 years for recreational and anyone that registered initially, and didn't delete their info when that court case briefly overturned it, got extended to December of 2020

There's paid ad's that come up when doing a search that charge much more than the 5 dollars to allegedly register for you, don't fall for it.
This is the correct web site.
https://faadronezone.faa.gov/#/

Then click RECREATIONAL

I have been only semi active in RC in recent years. I just want to make sure I am in compliance with FAA. I have a FAA registration number and display in on my planes.

Is there any thing else that I am required to do as of now ? Some where I got an idea that there was something else required of me. Not sure where I got this idea from.

My question was: Is there any thing else that I am required to do ? Your reply says "Yes" ? So that seems to indicate there is more I need to do. But the rest of your reply seems to imply there is nothing else required of me. ????

The only legal requirement beyond having permission to fly on the land where your flying is to have your FAA number displayed on your planes , and to follow the list of rules the FAA had you agree to when you were issued your FAA number .
