Problems should be worked out , not tyring to see who has the most power or bickering over what they think. Use fack not fiction this a great sport if you want to fight get your self a combat plane and have at it. Lets try to keep polotics out of RC . You know that is not possible with JR and Hos.

RE: J_R Vs. Hossfly - What do you think??
Hi,
I'll take Hossfly any day. First, he's an ex AF pilot: let's hear it for the good guys!
No matter what anyone says about the AMA, you can be sure that J_R will correct them. If you say the sky is blue, you can bet J_R will say it's green. I haven't seen a post, and I've been lurking here for a long time, that J_R doesn't "correct" what was said about the AMA. With his superior knowledge of all things AMA, and all his inside contacts, I wonder why he isn't running the whole show, something like John Worth did years ago.
Oh well, it's fun reading it all, not that any of this is going to change anything.
Regards,
Jon

Well if JR cared as much about curing all the causes of cancer in California as he does the D8 election and parroting the AMA's pdfs there would be no doubt there would be a cure.
I for one sure would like a chance to converse with others here before JR contorts and construes every word with his "mastery" of semantics. Oh BTW when it comes to trolling he has the biggest boat and the most hooks

JR makes no pretenses about his "inside" contacts at AMA. He calls and speaks to them the same way any of us can. He is well informed because he is interested and passes correct info on to the rest of us which I appreciate.
And trolling? Come on DDD isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?

Hi BasinBum,
Well, I'm glad you appreciate his info, as for me I'm tired of his constantly correcting every posting. When he asks, "what would you do" about a subject, and the person replies with a suggestion or solution it's never right: the responder doesn't see the big picture, etc. Seems strange to me he's that he's the ONLY person with correct information and answers. If you believe he's not "connected" inside AMA then welcome to the land of OZ.

Plus the "you've lost all credibility with me" and the "this discussion is over" [for an hour or so] bits are getting a little tiresome.

RE: J_R Vs. Hossfly - What do you think??
F106,
I think the reason he corrects so much is there is so much misinformation posted here. I'm tired of the conspiracy theorists, the misinformed emotional reactionaries, the people with no practical understanding of insurance coverage, and so on. At times that seems to be about 90% of the folks who post here so it is no wonder that JR seems to be correcting everyone and has little regard for credibility.
I don't think JR has ulterior motives or a desire to run for office as do some of the other posters here and he has given some really solid advice to our club in it's effort to combat an encroachment on our field.

Well then why can't he just cite the fact and go on instead of attacking others credibility, intelligence, ability to read and on and on and on.... even if they have not asserted anything as fact or may just be uninformed.
Here is one reason...JR wants the AMA to grow to have some real political clout...It just ain't going to happen tho. By design the AMA can not even lobby for our interests. So the dilemma...
Recently he has set a very bad example for those here that do value his insight… AND that is a real shame.
He has real problem with admitting when HE is error and that is the greatest sin.

Both, at times, make valid and supportable contributions to these forums....more so than most.
Both have valid differing opinions on subjects, which is needed for a debate, and good for Democracy.
Both probably care more than 99.9% out there.
I applaud both for their individual effort, and respect both gentlemen's input.

Well for the most part I just turn the page and ignore them. But I have to say I have had fun argueing with JR and because of it have learned stuff. I dont agree with him but maybe 5% of the time but he helped me when I was wanting to bring all the hovering over the runways to the EC's attention and his help paid off they are looking into the matter now and discussing what they can do abt it.

Talk (type) respectfully! Quit the "I know more than you do" BS!
Be CONstructive not DEstructive! Both are intelligent and useful members and should be utilized positively! Respect one another and your comments will be taken by the 'Average' AMA member much better!
