Would you happen to know where their campaigns will be posted?
Hopefully all in a central location.......

Three candidates are the maximum allowed on the ballot. The incumbent is automatically placed on the ballot, as one of the three, unless ¾ of the NC members vote to withhold the incumbent’s name from the ballot. The NC will then determine the remaining candidates to be placed on the ballot. As an example, there are 5 people nominated for president. Dave Brown will be placed on the ballot unless ¾ of the NC vote to withhold his name from the ballot. If he is placed on the ballot, two others will also be placed on the ballot, making the total 3. Anyone else choosing to pursue the office will have to do so as a write-in candidate, and will not be afforded official space for a campaign statement.
The official candidates (the 3 only) will be allowed to submit a written campaign statement. Those statements are limited in length and must be submitted by August 1. The statements are then posted on the AMA web site, printed in Model Aviation Magazine, and are also sent along with the ballot, which is mailed along with each member’s AMA renewal.
That is the extent of the “official” campaigns.
Of course, that does not preclude a candidate from doing advertising in other forms, including, but not limited to, direct mail, web sites, and magazine advertising. Other than the official statements, the AMA web site may not be used to campaign, nor may any links to other sites from the AMA page, nor the District web sites, as I understand the rules.
Since the candidates have not been selected yet, and the ballots are not sent until mid-September (IIRC), you won’t see anything official for a while, other than the posting of the candidates once they are selected. Ballots must be mailed to the auditor (NOT HEADQUARTERS, THOSE DO NOT COUNT) and must be postmarked before November 15, IIRC.
Although there may be others, I am aware of only one web site currently active. That one is for Tony Stillman, who is hopeful of being on the ballot in DV. His site is at http://webpages.charter.net/nneville/nneville/index.htm
As an example of what you can expect to see in the official campaign statements, this link is to those of a prior election http://www.modelaircraft.org/templat...03election.asp . NOTE, THIS LINK IS NOT FOR THE CURRENT ELECTION.
