How much does your club membership cost?
I'm just curious as to how much you guys are paying per year for the privilege of using your flying site.
The local club here wants €285 per year to pay for hiring the site and for MACI membership (MACI is like the AMA here).

The results were like this : The range was from zero to thousands of $. The average was around $40 per year. Lots of clubs fly on public land and don't have to pay rent, their fees are low. Clubs which fly on private ground and rent it have to have higher dues to pay the rent & upkeep.
The interesting ones were the low & high numbers. Here, the Toledo (Weak Signals) club has zero dues, but some stringent requirements : Everyone has to work the entire Toledo show, and there are no students allowed. At least, that was reported a year or two ago.
The highest reported dues were at a Florida club, which had different levels of membership. Nonvoting members paid a few hundred dollars a year. Voting members had to pay thousands of dollars for a voting share in the club. They had some pricey property. There were some other interesting cases, I'll try to find the list.
Hope you get some good replies from those on your side of the pond.

$20 per year, $10 for seniors and juniors. That includes a picnic which we're having tomorrow and a steak dinner Christmas party.

100.00 a year , we have to upkeep our feild and we have very few members. So if your in the Oxford MS. area and need a club come on and fly with us , we need members to get out dues down. On the other hand it is nice to only have 17 members and only about half of them show up on hte weekends so we you pretty much have th feild to yourself , and we have a really nice feild.

€285 looks like thats on the high side of average. I think the reason is that there are only 20 members in the club and the field costs over a thousand to rent each year.
I agree with what Red S said about golf course fees.......they're probably running at the €500 mark around here

My club charges $50 initiation fee and $150 per year dues for adult and no initiation with $25 dues for under 18. There are special rates for extra family members of household members of one adult full member.
Those dues are for the privilege of being a Club-Member rather than using the facility, as the Incorporated Club OWNS the land and the facility. For those that retain continuous membership -- renew by 31st of Jan each year -- they earn membership months. These mm are treated as stock shares should the club ever have to cease operations or restructure.
Actually Jetero is the best deal in town.

The local public club has a $50.00 initiation fee and charges $60.00 a year. At our last club meeting we talked about going up on our dues to $80.00 a year. Either way, it's still pretty cheap compared to a lot of other hobbies' dues. I also have my own private site. I charge $70.00 a year per person (20 people).

$35.00 per year ... less than the price of one "decent" servo ... less than AMA dues ... less than 3 gallons of Glo Fuel ... you get the idea .... inexpensive !

WHAM (West Hickory Aero Modelers) $50 +15 maintenance fee = $65 per year w/AMA Kid flies free. This is a great deal. All my clubmates treat my son as if he were their own. 1/8mile pavement and 85 acres gotta love it. Anybody that thinks different can go screw.[8D]

We fly in a state park and ours is $10.00/year. We don't have to cut any grass, (we have a free blacktop runway too!)take out any trash, the state takes care of all that stuff. You should have heard some of the comments last year when I suggested we up the dues!

21 and over, $75.00. Under 21, 15.00, 62 and over, $10.00 discount. Partial year reductions. Grass field on top of a closed fly ash dump. Nearly 40 acres to fly over. Helicopters, any size gas, glow, or electric accepted. Just added a shelter this year, gravelled road and parking lot last year.

$100 to join, $200 a year to fly.
But here in Orange county NY realestate with out trees are a premium, and taxes are high.
We limit the membership to 100 people.

We pay 60.00 per year plus 25.00 yearly park dues. Our feild is on city property.
Additional family members are 5.00 each. AMA is of coarse mandatory. We average about 100 members and we pro rate dues after eight months into the year.
We have 900 feet of grass and about 200 feet of hard runway. Pretty good deal!!!!
HOW BAD HAVE YOU GOT IT ??????

I belong to two clubs. One has its field 5 minutes from the house. Dues are $30 a year and the club has its own tractor and is on private property. Same with the other club I belong to. No danger of losing field because of noise. One club has 35 members and the other one under 30. So, you don't spend all day at field to fly twice. Heck at the once club, I usually fly by myself cause nobody ever shows up!
