I have been patiently waiting on my card and some of the other club members have also been waiting and no cards, one of the club members called AMA and it seems that the story goes that the post office lost some boxes of cards and we will have to each call the AMA to get a card reissued. I checked the AMA web site and there is nothing on it stating that I will have to call to get a card. as the club president I try to get every one to renew early to avoid the rush, sure makes me look bad. in all, myself,as the club pres. the secretary, field marshall, treasurer, will all have to call to get cards, this is a bunch of bull, would have been nice to have something posted on the web site to let people know this. or are they trying to keep their problem hidden? Rick Sowell,Pres. TCMAA, Olympia
BTW: I mailed mine on the 19th of October!!!!!

Mine was sent in October, the check has been cashed, and no card. It would be REALLY nice of the AMA to actually post about this on their website. I guess it's too much to ask for $58 per year

I totally agree with you Ryan, they have soooo much to do I don't think they can fit that into their schedule. are you going to make it back to the Northwest for IMAC season? the Polar Bear will be at the Rams field, hope you can make it. pretty cold in Minneapolis? Rick.

Rick, I hope I can make it back for the season. It all depends on if I can find work back home that is a step up from what I'm doing now. Maybe I'll get my AMA card before that happens.

Mine was mailed to AMA on Oct 5th- a couple of days after I received the bill. I had my 2005 card early in November. I think a phone call is in order!

Better that then receiving an email from AMA membership that my online renewal transaction was compromised by an errant (secure) server and (sorry), I'd have to reapply.
Cancel my credit card? You bet!!!!
Recieve notice from card company of unauthorized use? Thankfully not !
Indicative of a problem within the AMA? Not by itself. But when added to all the other stuff being bantered about within these threads, perhaps it's another tip of the iceburg thats finally showing itself.
The AMA has traditionally done the "mechanics" of it's operations very well, but perhaps this and other stuff is an indicator of chinks in this armour as well.

Ouch..... I did a web renewal and had my card in 12 days. Perhaps AMA is focusing on technology rather than the pen and paper. That's fine IF they would inform the membership of their intentions.

mailed mine in early dec check cashed mid dec still no card . i would think that if
if the post office lost some cards it would only be one batch that was mailed in
a certain time frame. would be nice if the AMA sent out a notice.

Heck, I haven't even sent in my $58 yet. Been buying Lipo batteries. Guess when I get paid in a couple of weeks for a commercial AP job I'll send 'em the dues.

Now REAL SERVICE would be if you mailed in your membership fees on the 15th of December and you received them the 1st of December [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

I had a problem once with not receiving my card. Problem was that they had a person who didn't know that CD's (at that time) got free membership. I got my card and someone else's to boot. The some one else was local; I found them in the phone book and forwarded their card. At that time, the AMA was outsourcing mailing of the cards. I received an appropriate letter of apology from Joyce Hager.
The first encounter a new member has with official AMA is the membership application and receiving their card. It should work 100% perfect.

I called the AMA today and got a different story, that the post office destroyed some cards and they would send one out today. this still doesn't excuse the fact that they have nothing on their web site stating that there was a problem and to call to get a replacement card. Rick Sowell.

I renewed on the internet 12/29/04. My car came yesterday, 01/03/05. Anyone have a problem with that kind of service?
