AMA District V announces new web page
The new District V web site is being constructed. At the moment it is a temp
page on the AMA domain, but more will be added almost daily. Please pass
the word!

RE: AMA District V announces new web page
Yeah, that AMA logo thingy is a real pain. It came from one of (in my opinion) the best AMA sticker sheets they ever released. Real sharp sticker. Because its metallic and shiny, Ive had a real time trying to get a clear digital version of it. I ended up shooting it with a digital camera at 12mp to get the end result. Still trying to clean it up a little.
Here's the inside info on the website.
For probably the first time, we will be implementing a new live chat room. The purpose is to allow AMA VP's, contest directors, etc to do live, real time conferencing.
We will also be putting a Calendar of Events on the website, which we hope to have Regional and Local Events.
There will be many more features coming.
If you have any suggestions or things that you would like to see, feel free to post them here, or shoot an e-mail to Tony Stillman and give him your input.

The website works very well. I like the implementation of the event calendar, it is easy to flip through.
The AMA logo looks good, the highlights of the metallic border give it zip.

Hey guys, really glad to see that.
i especially like the calendar of events including full-size events. When i plan vacations/trips/etc. i need to check to see when things like top gun are being held, then i need to look for events like sun-n-fun, etc. to make sure i'm not going to miss them. having all this in one place really helps....thanks,

Just as a point of interest, the AMA is looking for someone to handle the web page. While there are several very good district sites, I believe the one Bill Lee handles for D 8 is the best. I offered up my opinion that he should be considered for the job. I know in the past he offered to do it for nothing. He certainly has the expertise.
Bill, take the money and go for the job.

RE: AMA District V announces new web page
As of last weekend, at the AMA Convention, the job had not been filled. When asked, AMA staffers could not point to anyone in charge of the site, currently. Some content is being added by a couple of people in an attempt to keep it semi-current.
