Default IF your AMA club is rich, don't read this

The following was posted by D VIII VP, Sandy Frank. If you are NOT in his district, be sure to send the application to YOUR VP and not to Dr. Frank. A few years ago D VI VP, Charlie Bauer put this program together. It seems like each year applications are more scarce than funds. Note the use of labor, as the club's portion of the requirement. The applications must be in the hands of your VP by March 1. For more info, see this doc on the AMA site http://www.modelaircraft.org/PDF-files/712.pdf , or the link in Dr. Frank's post.

Hello, D8,

AMA sets aside 25 cents per capita from all adult membership dues (Adult and SR. Citizen) to fund the Flying Site Assistance Grant program...

see:

http://www.modelaircraft.org/04fsdigpindex.asp

as of late information...

some of these funds MAY go away and NOT be awarded due to lack of applications...

though this is a 10% matching program...with some limits...

ACTUAL SWEAT investment and equity may be considered for this program...

so in many cases the capitol outlay may be leveraged against the labor costs and matching funds by other sources....

THE TIME draws near !!!!

IF YOU draft up a grant request...

PLEASE send it directly to :::

my signature ( or POWER of Attorney) must accompany YOUR grant proposal..

District 8 ( TX, NM, OK, AR & LA) has DONE WELL IN THE PAST WITH THESE GRANT REQUESTS...

AND i HOPE THAT THEY WILL IN 2005

Best regards.
