RE: LETS SEE YOUR CLUB
Here's another Sanford club, this time in Sanford, Florida. We are located 8 miles east of Sanford on Highway 46, about 20 miles northeast of Orlando.
We are holding our annual Fall Festival on Oct 28 - come on down!
Visit the Sanford Aero Modeler's website at www.sanfordaeromodelers.com.
I know of one other Sanford club, in North Carolina.

You can see our club field at www.wham-rc.org. Parallel grass and paved runways, 900 feet long each bearing 1 and 19. Used to be a 1/8 mile drag strip back in the 50's and 60's, our club has been there since 1970's. West Hickory Aero Modelers (Hickory, NC), 60 members; but we're closely associated with two other clubs in our area, many of us have membership in one or both of the others. We also have a lake site at our club treasurer's house on Lake Hickory, and fly there every Wed eve during DST hours.

This is AWESOME. Littlecrankshaf your right a club is not a place its the membership.
But then again the right membership can make a lot of positive things happen.
I also like all the pictures our club here is going to be building a new site and we can get
A lot of great ideas. The web cam that updates every 5 min. how cool is that. You can see the weather conditions who's there

Here is our club, best group of people I know of... I always tell new members, we may not have a paved runway, but the people make up for it.. Very down to earth, we don't care if you fly Giant scale aerobat, or a flying ladder (we have them both!)

Here's ours [link=http://www.granderondebushpilots.org/]http://www.granderondebushpilots.org/[/link]
Grande Ronde Bush Pilots, La Grande, Oregon. We have two fields, usually 50-60 members. We have all kinds of people, all kinds of pilots, people that build ARFs, people that only build kits, electric gurus, you name it. We always manage to have a good time.

RE: LETS SEE YOUR CLUB
In Iowa City, Iowa, there exists a club that consists of ~70 of the greatest, friendliest, most hard-working members any club could ever hope for: the Iowa City Aerohawks! http://www.iowacityaerohawks.com/
Our entire facility (including our most recent clubhouse expansion project) was completely built/erected/finished by the membership, 100% volunteerism. There's no question that we have some of the most dedicated and active members of any club. The best example of this enthusiasim and dedication occurs each year on the first Sunday following the 4th of July when we put on a free air show at our facility. Last year we had over 1400 spectators! Granted, our air show helps generate critical revenue, but more importantly, it sparks interest in RC aeromodeling among the younger kids (and some older, of couse). New members bring new ideas, new energy and the fresh enthusiasm that keeps our sport/hobby moving forward!
Please give our website a visit, and if you're ever in our area, stop by and say hello!
All of the club websites I visited as a result of finding this thread look great, and all of you should be very proud!

We welcome any AMA members traveling through or vacationing in Florida. If you are not an AMA member we participate in the AMA intro program, so stop by and give it a try.

RE: LETS SEE YOUR CLUB
Noah,
Perhaps this reply is a little late. Just one request though, please talk to the "powers that be" for next year and keep the wind and the rain out of the program activities. The food was great and the card game was a delight, your club facilities are top drawer, and the brave ones that did fly were great.
I just remembered, you won't have to do any talking to the "powers", next year's "tri event" will be elsewhere.
Jim

RE: LETS SEE YOUR CLUB
Hi, Jim!
Yeah, the weather was pretty bad, but at least we had the good company of the Skyhawks!
The Tri-Hawk Invitational does not necessarily have to be held elsewhere, although it would be fun to have it rotate so we could all visit one another's clubs. I bet all of down here in Iowa City would be happy to host again next year.
We should touch base early next Spring and talk about possibilities.
Hope all is well.
Best regards,
Noah
