new child
AMA has a new child, Colbert Radio Control Flyers, AMA Charter 4709. We formed and chartered with AMA in June 2006. We started with the basic 5 members and currently have 9. We are looking forward to a growing year. Our flying site is a 60 acre level field; we carved out a 700 X 50 foot runway and now have a beautiful green runway.
Our website is www.colbertrcflyers.com. We welcome anyone from anywhere to visit our site, sign our guestbook, register in our forums section, just leave a comment or start a discussion. Some of our members are well versed in our hobby and would love to engage in discussion with you.

RE: new child
Looks like it was a decent birth weight (5 members) and is gaining steadily (9 members)
congrats on the new kid, I'm sure it'll grow and prospure. remember "it takes a village..."
if I can offer some un-solicited advice...
Me and several other people started an AMA sanctioned club a LOOOONG time ago. we grew to three fields, two grass and one pavement spanning three counties.
our best friends where the land owners, city then the county. Befriend them and you'll reep the benefits of a excellent partnership.
never forget where you came from, always remember you also where a young pilot with lots of "stoopid" questions and never ever ever let a bad apple spoil the whole bunch.
