Well, MASTER CHIEF by definition of your selected name here you have set yourself up as the Master, one having authority over another, one having control, dominant, skilled, and proficient, plus being the CHIEF, the head of a body of persons or an organization, and of greatest importance or influence.

Are you sure you're not some lady from California whose last name starts with a "P"? In any case with such self claimed importance, it may be difficult to get along with a great number of other such persons, all that have a certain amount of that same affliction. Now while the last 15 years +/- have created a vast number of people that play with toy airplanes moreso than build toy airplanes, and the vast majority of those players are DARN GOOD at their play-time, the older guys are more of the craftsman types and are a bit more of the artistic personality. Now you well know that the artist marches only to a drum that only he can hear. That too is a good thing.

So as long as all are individuals with different tastes, different objectives, different likes and dislikes, there will also be different passions about the activity. There will be heated discussions. If there is anything that could help getting along better, it is for people to be more tolerant of what others do, and what others like.
I remember once when a younger person asked me about my perspectives as I grew older and I replied: "I have become much more tolerant of other people's lifestyles, however I have become much more intolerant of those that try to shove their lifestyle upon me and/or expect ME to pay for their choices."
The same works here. I love what you do, whatever it is reference aeromodeling. Just don't expect me to have to bear the burden for what you do or want or any screw-ups you make. Do as you please, but any carelessness and the consequences are YOURS.

There it is CHIEF!

Look at my name and my avatar, then google it. Anyone who has played a XBOX or XBOX 360 knows who Master Chief is.

And this post was not about me. It was for the other people who bicker and flame each other with personal attacks and stuff like that in this forum. It was meant as a sarcastic, "Can't we just all get along"; when we know people will butt heads no matter what.

Sorry, but I don't do dectective work unless I think it's important. In addition, I don't play those games.

And this post was not about me. It was for the other people .....
Stuff like that usually is.

For teookie, pills are not my thrills, although some of these doctors seem to think so. They don't seem to know anything else these days. Guess they just play with game-toys in med. school. After all the first day's med. school lesson is: "Preventative Medicine KILLS return business." That's all they ever need to know.

Good post! Ya know where there are horses, there are HOSSFLY's, and where there are horses and HOSSFLY's there is usually a pile of something you don't want to step in! Hoss has repeatedly shown that he:

1: Is stubborn as a mule
2: Pesky as any flying insect
3: And full of that stuff what come outta them thar horses

Master Chief - Those are great sentiments, but you won't generally find it in this forum. This is where Hoss preaches. He don't share the pulpit with anybody. Now shhh! I think I hear him warming up for another sermon.

Give me a break![sm=72_72.gif]

My 13 year old son has a t-shirt that reads," I don't need to go to school, i know everything already." I think after reviewing this forum for a few months i realize. There are people who really try to contribute to this forum and make it informative. Then there are drive by wise acres who just want to slap someone and then drive off and act as though they have done something. I have learned much the older i get, usually the fact that i know so little. But one thing i have learned much about in the last few years is human nature. The heart of some people is very dark. Frankly i like HOSS have little patience with these people.

I heard a comment on TV, "The internet gives everyone the opportunity to be a jerk." Maybe, in person all the apparent jerks who post on this forum are really fine and decent folks.

Hope springs eternal.[8D]

the club saito and brotherhood thing is just a signature line, much like DR-1's "Hun in the Sun" thing, it don't mean much at all. If you're truly an Army vet, you should understand how it makes you feel when somebody "talks the talk" without having "walked the walk". If somebody wants to call themselves Master Chief without having any idea what it really takes to BE one, it rankles me. Sure, it's just a video game, what kind of cojones does that take?

I'm proud as hell of the guys and gals fighting in our military, the ones "walkin' the walk". I wore the blue suit, never had a shot fired at me in anger, but hauled quite a few who had out of harms way, and was over there the first time around.

Hey, Master Chief, you got your answer didn't you? It appears that playing and enjoying a good video game makes you less of a man. Well, I'm there with you. Played HALO on the PC and really enjoyed it. My 5 year old kid ran around calling me "Master Chief" and saluting for weeks. I guess there is at least one in here that would beat him up for that.

khodges, you are intolerant. The funny thing is that this thread was about you and those like you. If you want to get the respect for your service that you seem to crave, try this: Quit telling everybody what a wonderful, intolerant jack*** you are. Stop using stupid cliches like "walking the walk" and "I wore the blue suit". Respect is earned, not given out for free.

My comments are BULL??? which ones, decay? These?---- "So as long as all are individuals with different tastes, different objectives, different likes and dislikes, there will also be different passions about the activity. There will be heated discussions. If there is anything that could help getting along better, it is for people to be more tolerant of what others do, and what others like."
Maybe it was the references to modelers being like artists and we march to our own drumers. I do, don't you? Or maybe you prefer being told what to do, however being an Army vet, I don't believe that is so, because most vets can well think for themselves however some did fail to learn that little trick.
Yes, ol' Hoss is a vet. 13 years active and a retired reservist. USAF. All 3 aeronautical ratings: Pilot, Navigator, Bombardier.
Now just what does that have to do with this thread? Beats _ell outa' me!

My dad is a retired Master Sergent who spent 20+ years in the Airforce and still now works for the U.S. Government at the Army Ammunition Plant in McAlester OK. He is a Vietnam Vet, he hurt his leg jumping into a helicopter during the war. Before he joined the Air Force he actually could have signed a contract with a MLB baseball team when he finished High School; but he chose to serve his country and joined the Airforce.

I grew up a military brat and have seen the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds up close. I have lived at Hill AFB Utah, Shaw AFB South Carolina, Kadena AFB Japan, Bergstrom AFB Austin, Texas. We lived at Kadena Airbase in Okinawa Japan for 4 years and I got to see the SR-71 Blackbird, nicknamed the the HABU by the locals; nearly on a daily basis as it took off and would do it's recon missions along the russian border. I got to sit in the Cockpit of actual flight ready F-4's in Okinawa and F-16's at Hill AFB as I was growing up. My dad would take me to this place were we would get cool looking , non classified recon photos, like our F-15's escorting russian bombers close to the alaskan airspace and stuff like that.

My brother is was in the Army for 6 years stationed out of Fort Carson Colorado and was deployed to Korea for 2 years.

So I know quite a bit about military life and what they go through; but my forum Avatar name should have no bearing on that. That's all it is, a forum Login name. What if I was playing a star wars game, I might have chosen Lord Vader as my forum name and had a pic of Darth Vader.
