I don't think there is a minimum age. You don't have to fly to join. Kid's money is just as good as an old f***s. Know of people as young as 8 years old flying as members....

You never have to join AMA to fly. You may have to join AMA to be allowed to fly at certain facilities or with certain clubs or groups or in certain events. That is a local situation depending on that local unit's affiliation with the AMA.
