Default Vol. 1 DVD from AMA

anyone else get this?

it's called Ultimate Model Aeronautics Volume One.........................letter says send $9.00 in if you want to keep getting them, or send it back, but then says "because you didn't ask for this special DVD, you don't have to participate or send it back and you could consider it a free gift."

so if i'm understanding this correctly, if it is not returned, i will not be charged, is that right?

That would be a correct assumption. Good Luck, Dave

Summerwind, If I were you, I wouldn't want to get on AMAs' bad side, just send in the money. From what I hear, the AMA hired Charles Manson to run this scam. [>:]

harr harr.....yeah newly re-upped with AMA, got old number back, 5 digits, but just couldn't careless about DVD's of this sort.
after being in the hobby since '62, i find it rather boring to say the least, but it would be good for a kid that just wants to see what this sport is all about.
however, in this day and age, i see my share of "keep it, it's on us" deals where the next thing you know, you get a bill for the otherwise freebie.

but the replies were interesting, tells me a lot about what AMA signs up these days................

The last discussion was under "AMA Video Scheme" from July 5-9, 2007. I think some folks have an issue with people coming on a forum and ignoring the history of the forum. In many forums the same subject comes up over and over again. Waste of electrons, you know. [] This particular forum is the least friendly of all the forums I frequent. However, one does not have to be an AMA member to be an irritating participant. We got inclusivity here!

And yes, unless things have changed, you will get a dunning letter.[>:]

You are right about the individual attitudes this forum displays, Thank God they are not a member of my club- I might have to buy a park flyer and buzz the duck pond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I for one would prefer to pay my dues, even if they were increased, and dispense with the side show BS. The DVD sent me was scratched badly and would not play correctly. There was no in h3ll I would pay for that POS or send it back to be passed onto another and waste more time, money and effort on the junk. As for as credit card offers go...don't get me started. We don't need that junk now or never.

I listed my DVD here on RCU marketplace as a joke. The ad expired with no interest.
