flying into the sun
I'm not sure what this thread has to do with the AMA. Maybe it'll get moved.
Anyway, I do a lot of flying into the sun as our runway faces west too. Once you get used to flying a silhouette it's OK. You have to plan your manoeuvres so they don't pass through the sun.
A lot of our members fly in the morning when the sun is at their backs, and the winds haven't picked up. It can get quite hectic in the pattern, and straying from the pattern is inviting a mid air.
We have an afternoon crowd, much smaller and more laid-back.
When sunset is approaching it gets quite pleasant to cruise around as the wind dies down, looking into the sunset.

flying into the sun
wondering if someone has a horror story about the ama not covering a claim because the field is facing straight into the sun!
