Need some info on AMA
I was just wondering what the fees are to be a member and whether or not the insurance coverage still counts if your just flying in a field somewhere that isnt a AMA sanctioned club. Even if it doesnt I will still probably get a membership so I can join a club if I find one.

It is not an insurance requirement to fly at an AMA chartered club site, as long as you aren't violating the law by using the the site, e.g., trespassing.
Yes, in all probability you will need to join AMA to fly at a club site as virtually all model airplane clubs are AMA clubs (there are some very rare exceptions), and AMA requires all AMA club members to be AMA members.

The annual fee if you are over 19 is currently $58, $48 if over 65: if you are under age 19 it is $1.
