RE: Nominating for Hall of Fame
Skyraider71 if you do go ahead and nominate someone please do go ahead and share the info about this nominee right here in this thread if you like. Not neccessary to use names if that is desired.
I don,t care if they do not get selected I still want to hear about these people and I can think of no better place to do it than right here in this frequently volutile forum. What a wonderful and positive use for this forum.
Heck if your (their) story hits home then maybe others or I would send in a nomination for the the same individual. I know it only takes one nomination to be considered by the board however multipled nominations certainly can have an effect on the selection decision.

Walter Morris, founder of Morris Hobbies is a long time associate of
my R/C club. Many of the Morris kits were developed at our club's
field. He and some others were instrumental in the developement
of what we now know as 3D.
I feel Mr. Morris is worthy of such honor.

Walt Morris, what a guy! Never met him in person, but let me tell you what he did for me.
When he first came out with the SuDoKoi / Rossi .45 combo, I bought a kit. This plane is to this day [some 15 years later] my favorite. Anyway, about 3-4 years after I first rolled the plane out, the engine wore out the upper end of the rod. I called Morris to buy a rebuild kit for the Rossi and after listening to me go on and on about what a great plane, great engine, etc., he says, "I think it's still under warranty, don't send any money". I swear, I argued with him for awhile, but he wouldn't have any of that and to make a long story short if it wasn't for this plane and getting introduced to 3D by Walt Morris, I would have got bored with RC and gone back to CL.

How do you nominate someone for the AMA Hall of Fame?
How do you nominate someone for the AMA Hall of Fame?
Sorry you had to wait so long. You asked for AMA Hall of Fame. I suspect that the links provided did NOT provide you the requested information.
Here is another place to start:
http://www.modelaircraft.org/documents.aspx
Document # 152. For 2010 selection. Important Date: Applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2010
Hall of Fame Selection Committee
Chair: Jerry Neuberger
Committee Members: Past and present AMA presidents and one individual selected from each of the 11 districts.
Interesting tidbit: The nominee does NOT have to be a member of the AMA.
