Can anyone tell me what tool is used to remove the round nut that holds the NGV in place? Is this nut CW or C/CW threads?

    Thanks

    Ray:

Thanks for your response, what tools is used for this nut? Remember this is not the turbine nut, it's the one that holds the NGV

RE: Need help: NGV nut removal, Pegasus

    Christian:

Here are some pics of the turbine:
Picture 1 is the round nut holding the NGV that I need to remove in order to pull out the combustion chamber

Picture 2 shows the fuel manifold joint to the fuel ring, after the joint, the fuel manifold continues to the inside of the CC all the way back until almost touching the NGV, I'm guessing that the extension on the mainfold may be to preheat the fuel.

Picture 3 shows visible through one of the chamber holes the fuel manifold extension, you can see it almost reaches the NGV

Picture 4 shows the heat "stain" on the ouside of the turbine body showing the hotspot location, you can see it happens after the NGV

Picture 5 shows the inside rear wall of the NGV, you can see the stains caused by raw burning fuel on the hot spot location.

Coincidently, the location of the hotspot and the burning fuel stains on the NGV are aligned with the location of where the fuel mainfold extension ends. Still I tried pumping some fuel through the fuel manifold and no fuel appears to be coming out of the other end of the fuel manifold extension

    i would guess c c/w ngv nut

as u can see the 4 prong tool would not fit as your nut has 2 knotches not 4

i have a custom tool for this with 2 prongs / used while in lathe to tighten & loosen
