Alpha 40 with sticky alierons
I have an alpha 40 that has a leftaileron that is sticky and hard to move compared to the right. Any suggestions on how to loosen it up and or take it apart to fix? Ater i disconnected the servo arm i moved it up and down many times and it is still very tight. I dont see any thing bent so not shure what the problem is.

RE: Alpha 40 with sticky alierons
I would check the ailaron tips to make sure they are not catching the wing. if there isnt a lot of clerance i would put a knife on each ailaron tip. I would also check the hinges if possible. Im not sure about the alpha trainer but some have hinges with pins through them and one might be bent. I would also check there is no glue in the hinges or covering that has got caut. Another good one to check is from the pushrod to the aileron. If one of those are bent they wont be running true. Hope this helps

RE: Alpha 40 with sticky alierons
The servo seems to be straining due to the noise it makes untill i move the aileron back to center, The aileron has plenty of clearence from the wing. The push rod doesent look like its bent but is hard to tell due to its in the wing. The hinges are or seem to be connected via plastic or some other material. Im thinking of cutting them loose and using packing tape for hinges. I wish I knew how to take it apart without damaging it then I would be able to figure it out.

If the hinge line looks clear, you may have glue in the bushing. Try putting just a drop of acetone (or nail polish remover with acetone) on the torque rod so it runs inside the bushing and work the aileron. If it seems to be freeing up, repeat as necessary to remove the glue.

Just for future hinge battles.....do no tuse packaging tape as a hinge for nirto models. EVER!!!
Sorry....had to. I would hate to hear of the possible crash due to tape hinges.
