RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF
I have finished the retracts and they look pretty good. I will cover the wing tonight and should be finished with the install.I decided to use brass wire instead of cables for the wing. I just like the way it looks. This way I was able to use some ball connectors to attach.I am waiting on the DLE 55RA and the new cowling and we should be ready for some flight video.

Hi Guys:
I have been following this thread and I have the 30cc size that I am putting a DLE-55 in. What is the dimension from the firewall on the motor box to the front of the cowl supposed to be?

My 30cc sized R3 was a rocket with the DLE 55. Add smoke to it will really help make it stand out
i needed the motor for a P51 and put a BME50cc in there with no drama I can feel the dif but not much added a stuffed Snopie poilt to fix the CG with the heavier Motor. But the DLE55 blances almost prefict.

interesting gear configuration, but how to you take the wings out ?
Also, my 2cents, after 2 flights my cowl fixations came loose, seem they were glued with too little wood type glue.. check it out.. (and that's with a twin cylinder, not a big vibrating single eheh)

Guys, I picked up at 30cc model today. The website states 10-12lbs AUW. Is that correct? I have an OS 160FX sitting on my shelf that is a great match for my Edge with similar dimensions and weights 10.5 lbs. Looking forward to flying this one!

I unboxed the bird today. Everything looks in really good shape. Good lord that cowl is huge.
One potential issue. The canopy assembly doesnt appear straight & level. With the pins in the holes and the first set of blind nut tabs into the fuse, the back end sticks up almost 5/8". It will push down, but that just doesnt seem right. Did anyone else have this?
*Will attach a pic once RCU wants to behave...

Hornetnz:
Yes mine came the same way. Push it down and put in the screws to hold that way and then use you covering iron and warm the whole canopy (white area o0nly) and then leave it cool for at least an hour. Take out the screws and it won't be perfect but much better. DON'T use a heat gun you will deform it.

Mine was the same way. I installed the screws to hold the canopy in place and then put it in the sun on a hot summer day. After several hours and then allowed to cool slowly it was much better. Still a bit up but very close now.

Has anyone ever tried to cram an 80/85cc into the 50cc model? I've seen lots of 55's go into the 30cc models.

I just checked your site and see that the 30 size wheel paints are out of stock. Do you know when they will be available?
