Need Canpoy
Ipurchased what Iwas told was a CMP (China Model Products Yak) it has a wing span of 72" Iset the hatch and canopy behind my BBQ grill in the garage, cooked some steaks and melted the canpoy beyond repair. Any Ideas on replacement. How can I tell if this model is truly a CMP YAK?

Don't throw away the melted canopy.
At worst you can cut out the melted or deformed parts... if you cannot find a replacement.
Then put wax paper under it, and inflate a balloon to give you are rough shape of the missing area.
Finally epoxy fiberglass strips to fill things in, sand and paint.
You'll loose the transparancy, but you can paint the transparent areas a dark color.
Done correctly it will look as good as new, minus the clear covering, and it will be far stronger.

RE: Need Canpoy
Several outfits make fiberglass replacements. Try searching for fiberglass specialities. If they don't have exactly what you want you can call them and they will help. I've just given them the dimensions of what I want and they provided a cowl that fit great.

Sig still has some canopies listed, you might want to check them out. They are USA and can probably use some more bussiness , seeing they have NEW owners. ENJOY !!! RED
