I think Mike is having Christen Eagle envy .... LOL

I know these cost more but when you look at the detail on the plane, you can see the extra money. The Topflite Corsair ARF, also very nice and the same with the H9's, time spent on the small things. I had two CMP's and both were pretty cheap, mainly in quality, I think the Chinese fear glue or something.

Mike may have Christen Eagle envy, but I have my eyes set on the Stinger 2- It looks like it will be a load of fun to fly, and I really like the color scheme they chose- it will be very easy to see in the air. I can't wait for it to be released!

By the way, I was looking at the manual for the Stinger 2, online, and it looks like another great manual from Great Planes and a real easy assembly!

Another thumbs up for Great planes! Keep the new (and older revisited) planes coming!!!

Neither. It's a Howard DGA-9 (Damned Good Airplane)

With the prices GP and H9 are selling them for the labor could be American.
I WISH, then I wouldn't think twice about it.

Bare in mind that Hobbico and H9 both tend to set a maximum price for the ARF's at launch, then they whittle the prices back a bit over time.

All too often future discounting is built into the initial prices, to try to make things interesting for the consumer.

Their "inexpensive" Miglet started life selling for around $100.00 for the kit, I've picked up the same thing from them for $24.00 on special.

I paid $224.00 for a Giant U-Can-Do though it started out selling close to $500.00.
I wish I had picked up a spare...

I'm with you!

You can't beat a good set of directions! I was just looking at the directions for the Stinger2 and the Tower Razor 3D, both have great instructions. I like the fact they have the Razor set up for electric or nitro.

The H9 prices are starting to go up again, not suprised with the economy. At least you can use a monthly coupon through Tower and get free shipping, knocks the price back down a little.

Exactly! Nowadays, the instructions are written in such a way that even a complete novice can assemble all but the most difficult models!

I did notice that they are larger. I bet that they'll help the Stinger to be a great aerobat!

You know, in looking at this thread, one BIG question comes to mind; What does Minnflyer think about the Christian Eagle?

LOL!

Mike and I have had this conversation before, and I have seen that picture, but it's still very funny when it re-surfaces!!!

Why doesn't Hobbico re-introduce or develop some new kits? I like the ease of ARF's, but I feel the hobby aspect is all but gone. I have only seen small electric models as kits recently - nothing in the 40-60 sized range.

That being said, the Howard is really nice looking....
