I am about halfway done with mine. I am going with a Evolution 26 and I'm hoping it has enough power. I did have to get a second set of windows for mine since the vaccuum forming on the first set was sub par. Aztec sent me another set right away. For $299 and free shipping plus service like that I'd say thats the place to go.

Yes the evo 26 will have enough for sport flying. I currently have an old crrc 26 on mine, and it has plenty of power to do any scale style flying. Most of the time I fly around at half throttle. There are times that I firewall it, and toss it around like a 3d airplane.

I've noticed that all the dealers in the EG / Slipstream family are verry easy to work with for replacements. Personally I live close to John at OMP and get my stuff from him.

Someone asked about flying without struts. A guy at our field flew his without the struts and both wings folded at the joint between the center panel and outer panel in "normal" flight. Where the spar brace connects to the outer panel the material is very weak (balsa instead of ply?), and unable to carry much of any load.

The manual warns against flying without them.

In this case, the manual was not included in the kit, and he didn't download from the website.
Bummer...

Sounds like something I would do.[X(] I was researching that particular plane and had just read the manual when I came across this post. I guess that wing is one piece?

How do you cut your cowls? Chainsaw? Just sayin.

Yea that was a ugly job on th cowl. I have since replaced it. Now I'm building floats with retracts installed in the floats. hope to have this done by the Toledo show.

Sigman- the Beaver I built was from http://www.ohiomodelplanes.com/.

How did you attach the landing gear covers? Were they glued on with epoxy?

I just got my Beaver yesterday. On the wing, I should glue the two halves to the center piece for strength? I have hi torque standard servos, will that suffice?

Thanks
