Valley View RC 30cc Stinson Reliant SR-9
Has anyone flown this plane? I searched this forum and didn't find any results, if I searched it correctly. I have a DLE 30 with a side carb that I could install on it. I know it's not an aerobatic plane but could it do some basic stunts?

It should do as well as a clipped wing cub.
Kind of scary though that doing stunts is your first concern with this plane. This plane is better suited for someone who loves the lines of a 1930's Golden Age plane and would be content to put a slow radial engine in it and put-put around the pattern. Sounds like you would get bored of sloppy loops, rolls, and hammer head stalls with this plane pretty fast.
You might want to try and find a more aerobatic plane like a Ryan STA for that 30cc engine.

RE: Valley View RC 30cc Stinson Reliant SR-9
I bought a Stinson Reliant from Valley View and flew it the first time this weekend. IMHO a 30 cc gas engine is way too much for this plane. I'm running an OS 120 4-stroke and it's tons of power for this plane. This plane is very light and has a huge, thick, flat bottomed wing. It's funny, after putting the plane together I checked the CG and it was perfect. I then got it to the flying field, put it in the air, and the trims were perfect. The only mod I did to the plane was to put in a bigger gas tank because the one it comes with is pretty small.
You can do some basic acrobatics with the plane don't expect high performance. The control surfaces are small and so loops, rolls, etc are very slow. The only issue I had with it was that when you chop the throttle to land, it doesn't want to come down. It's a light plane with a lot of lift so you have to get it slowed way down to land it.

I have the version sold in Europe by Jamara. Powered by a 26 cc RCS SV engine from TBM. I'm planning on changing the engine with a DLE 30 or MLD 35. 26 cc it feels like slightly underpowered, according to my taste. I agree with Bioguy231: it needs larger control surfaces.

Jamara is selling it in Europe under the name Stinson Reliant SR9. I not on their website anymore but is still sold by others.

I was surprised when I found it on Valey View RC website under a different name.
