I have one I run a Saito 50 on it does just fine for what I do nothing too radical no 3-D stuff. The cowling was a pain to measure and mount took a couple of tries to get the screws to mount right to the little blocks of wood you have to glue to the firewall. I wouldn't use a 2 stroke unless you can find a muffler that fits inside the cowl otherwise you will have to cut huge holes in it to make it fit. Be careful when glueing the tailwheel that you don't get any epoxy in the tube that hold the tail wheel shaft otherwise it won't turn. Instalation of the fuel tank is kind of funky I had to pack a ton of foam just to secure the tank and I went with a round 10 oz instead of the recommended 8 oz. Make sure you reinforce the firewall mine the ply wood started to separate and I had to epoxy it back together. Also be careful when you drill the holes for mounting the wings you have to hit small wooden blocks but if you are too far to the outside of the wings you might drill thru the wingroot and out the side of the fuselage. It looks really sharp and the 4 stroke sounds cool when you do low high speed passes. I probably won't buy another one from this company but I love the way the chipmunk looks. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Is this the same chipmunk that KMP (Kondor Models) produces?

I think the real name is"CMP" as in "China Model Productions"
http://www.cmpairplane.com/airplane.htm

On my box it says Jamara and QS.
Flair also sell this plane.

all different prices for the same plane....quite funny actual :-)

Actually, no that's NOT the Cm Pro one, the CM pro chippy is smaller and has different (read Proper) spats.

That, my friends is also known as the ESM chipmunk...

This is one great looking ARF

The stickers and paint on the canopy realy give it the last touch.

All I need to do now, is buy a muffler for my Webra 50, and mount the engine.....and the wheels

That is one nice looking Chipmunk! When you fly let ne know how you like it and if you would recommend it. I'v been wanting a chipmunk for a long time. Was the quality of the kit good compared to other brands?

I have one it flies ok but the kit is kind of cheap, the fuse is a gel coated fiberglass the wings are a combination of wood and foam. The cowling is a painted fiberglass and the wheel pants are fiberglass too. The firewall has a 1/2" piece of plywood glued the back of the firbeglass and should be reinforced with a epoxy/alchohol solution. If using a 2 stroke engine you will really have to cut alot of the cowl to make it fit I used a Saito 50 in mine mounted inverted and I only had to cut a square hole on the bottom to accomadate the cylinder head and a small round hole on the side for the muffler. I also used a remote glow starter and a fuel fill valve to make starting and fueling alot easier. I only see 2 main weaknesses of this kit one being the fuselage I saw a guy nose one in and the fuse broke all the way to the wings it probably could have been repaired but it had all kinds of hair line cracks. The other problem is the tail wheel bracket is kind of weak I would stay away from rough airfields or you will be making many repairs on your tail gear. Flight characteristics are similar to any low wing symmetrical plane aileron rols are pretty fast even with recommended settings loops are nice and inverted flight is pretty flawless, I would expect any 3d flying with the recommended engine size but maybe a larger engine would work I haven't tried hanging mine on the prop. Landings are a little hot and speed must be kept up or a slight droped wing will happen no big deal if you have altitude but on landing it could be disastrous as my friends Chipmunk could show. I really like flying it but on the ground that's where most people will comment how nice it looks very handsome and the covering looks really good, make sure you seal the pinstripe on the cowl with some thin CA or it won't be there for too many flights. I hope this helps and if I could figure out how to post my pics on here I would show you what mine looks like but the pics that have been posted so far are pretty much how mine looks.

Thanks hlallen867.

I can see the tailwheel mounting is not too good. Il beef mine up.
Where is your CG?

I generaly like the quality of the kit. And it is all verry light weigt. So that should make it fly great..... I hope.

Just in case here's a site that sells spare parts for the Chipmunk like canopies, cowls, wheel pants, etc.

http://www.giantscaleplanes.com/arfsmall.htm

Go to online catalog and look under replacement parts

Default RE: Chipmunk

Hey SJN have you flown your Chipmunk yet? Also could you take a pic of the bottom so I can see how you installed the Radio gear and fuel tank. I want to get some ideas because I'm not happy with the way mine is setup.

Thanks
