H-9 Jackal 50
I am considering a Hangar 9 Jackal 50 for an O.S. 75 looking for a home. The H-9 site mentions that it needs a small base 60 size. Does that mean that a 75 won’t fit? I would be interested to know if anyonehas one and what enginethey use.
Thanks,

Hi Mark, the OS .75 will not fit, they recommend you use a Evolution .52NX or .60NX small base engine in this plane. A pity it would be a weapon with a .75.

Herbs,
It's funny that the 2 planes I am considering are the Jackal and the Sundowner, and I see you have the Sundowner as your plane.
Do you know if I can install a 75 on the Sundowner? What engine do you have in yours.
Between the Jackal and the Sundowner, which is your favorite. I like speed, but sport acrobatic is even more important to me.
The Jackal looks so nice, but so is the Sundowner. I have time to think about them.
I have both a 55 and a 75 that are looking for a home.
Thanks,
Harry

Hi Harry,
Hands down I love the 50 size Sundowner the most. My first one was running a .95ax but it way to heavy, but it certainly was quick. It was fitted the same way as the Dubb Jett 60LXH and I used one of their tuned pipes. A .75ax will fit no problem but a little work will be needed. My latest Sundowner runs the Dubb Jett 60LXH, lite super fast and reliable.

Markham,
Be careful with the 75, it weighs more than the 95AX check the specs on Tower site. I have a Sundowner 50, the lines are nice and straight flys super fast for me with huge precision. Makes me look like a better pilot than I am. Knife edge passes are perfect lines, low inverted passes, huge inside and outside loops, stall turns flys like its on rails I love it. Was my first H9 plane and it impressed me alot I now have 15 H9's. I am flying it with the OS 55AX with the stock muffler and its very fast. Excellent combination if you have a 55 laying around. Mine balances perfect with zero lead on with the 55 up front.
I also have the Jackyl in the box yet, probably looking at doing a 60NX on that one with Evolution/Jett blue pipe when I get to it.

RE: H-9 Jackal 50
Hi guys,
I finally bought my Sundowner 50. In the meantime I sold my 75.
I was thinking about a 55AX, but I thought that a 95AX would be much more power if it fts.
If a 75 fits the 95 should too because they have the same base, but the 95 is lighter and more powerful.
Anyone has something bigger thasn a 55AX in the Sundowner 50?
Thanks,

I bought a 65AX for the Sundowner, but the engine mount provided is a hair too small.
I am afraid to drill new holes in the firewall and mess it up. I wonder if there is another mount that could help.
Any tip would be appreciated.
