You made a good choice at a good price. If yours flies anything like my 50cc 540T, you will be amazed. GW builds a great airframe. I would like to suggest that you use metal gear servos on all surfaces. You can get a way with a plastic gear on the throttle but, I went with metal just to be safe. If you shop around you'll be able to find digital MGservos for a surprisingly low price.
The hardware that comes with the GW airframes is very good ... not the "best"but, it's definately up to the task.
Good luck,
RJ

RE: Gold wing racer edge 540
thanks for the props!!
Ya, they are selling the old and getting newer/better 1,s. The jc 30 looks really sweet. I like that it comes with an alluminum arm, mounting template and real walboro carb. Any ideas on how/where to mount switches? theres like no wood!

Good luck with that JC 30.
If it were me I'd stick with an engine that has good support and lots of parts available for it like the DLE 30

+1 on that. Sorry i got something diff!
I bought this jc 30 new/used from a guy that could not get it started. I found the low end needle was clogged. Started in 1 flip after passage was cleared. Seems to be a monster. video of second start. http://youtu.be/9xMqgfx9btM
To door for 190.
But what ever
cheers

Cannot log on from the home computers. My virus protection is telling me there is a I frame injector trying to infect. Anyways Got a chance to maiden the edge last night. On the second flight all but one of the hinges broke on 1 of the wings alerions. Really lucky to get the edge back on the ground unskaved. Just got back from lhs with 4 hs5645 servos, hinges and hinge tape. Video http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=M8Rd-dbP7RU
All fixed will try to get some vid of edge hovering next. O ya all up with full tank gas 10.9 pounds on digital scale. Using two 5cell and a 4chance cell batterys. Will lose some weight when i get my life bats. Cheers
Gonna try 19x6 zoar. Or should i go to 20x8?
