I ran the rear engine a tiny bit richer (just marginally more than the front engine) and both engines had synchronized throttle settings. The plane flew well at half throttle and I didn't experience any rear engine heating problems. I'm using 12 X 6 3 blade props.

I've attached some pics of the rear throttle servo and also what we did with the front throttle servo and nose gear steering as well. Pretty simple. I also took a couple pics of how the rear engine set up turned out so anyone considering mounting something larger will have something to reference. All we have left to do on ours is put a 90 degree elbow on the tip of the muffler to bring it out one of the holes in the bottom of the cowl. We will put a dummy tube in the other hole and call it good. Also, you mentioned getting the light covers for the wing tips. We have ordered lots of spare Seagull parts in the past and have a windshield on order now. If you have issues getting them, let me know. My dad works at the local hobby shop and he can usually get these parts fast at a good price. Oh yeah, one last thing.. both Dave Brown and Tru-turn will cut a spinner to any prop you want. Only thing is, if it's a strange size, they may have you send them the prop so they can get it dead on. We have done this many times on the 150cc birds.

A while back you had asked about wheel pants. I finally took pics of the Top Flite 182 ARF's with the Skymaster. Not sure how you could make the front one fit, but it could probably be done. They all look a little big to me. Anyway, pics below.

Atlanta Hobby really did not have this model in stock - inventory computer data error. I did get a reply from a private owner and purchased the model - NIB. I have started the build and found that the model is constructed very well with no issues yet. I started a build thread on RCG since I am going to use electric power.

Took my Skymaster out for the maiden flight this morning. She flew just fine even though she was a little overweight at 12 lbs. No trim adjustments required, cruises at half throttle with two 4S 4000mah 30C batteries, Tycon Big Foot 46 motors (50-55 670kv), 13 x 8E APC tractor front and pusher rear prop. Total power at full throttle = 1400 watts.
I took temperature readings immediately after the flight and motors, ESCs and batteries were barely warm at about 96-98F. I will be taking her out again soon for shakedown flights.

Congrats on the maiden!! looking forward to finishing my build as I need to make some mods for batteries to move them back under the pilot to get to balance. I have 2- 5s 5000's to generate the 1487 watts with 2- 3 blade MA 12-6 props So the CG at 80 mm is good?

Mike, you are using some very BIG batteries (5S 5000mAh) that account for the extra weight. I use 4S 4000mAh batteries that weight 14.3 oz each (28.6 total). Your batteries probably weight about 25 oz each (50 oz total). That equates to about 1 1/2 lbs difference just for batteries.

Hi Guys,
Haven't been here or even thought about this thread for a while until I received a PM about it this morning. I've tried to catch back up on the current posts and it's good to see so many of these birds have now flown! Unfortunately, we were consumed by other projects last spring and our Red Bull Skymaster has yet to fly. I think we are going to put it back on the bench this winter and make the finishing touches and put this thing in the air where it belongs! No hangar queens for us. In the mean time, I'm enjoying catching up on this thread and checking out the pics and vids I've seen on the tube. Good stuff!
Anyway, hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

Like your self, I have yet to maiden my Cessna 337 and my Cessna 310. They do turn heads when my club have a open house and they are on display. After reading this thread I knew I had to have one. I love scale building and Twins in particular. The Mixmaster has been in the back of my mind for years but the landing gear was always the hurdle. So I got the kit and started with the LG and door configuration. Once I had the retracts prototype working it was time to tackle closing up the bottom and the associated doors. Using the fuselage as a mold I laid up a shell using fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin. The doors extending into the rear cowling made it more complicated but it worked out OK.

Just getting back to building again this weekend. I have the main gear retracts complete and the bottom doors hinged. Will try post some pictures and video of them operating in a couple days.

Cessna 337 Retracts
After reading this Thread I knew I had to have a 337. I bought the kit but decided that before starting the build I had to figure out retracts. With a prototype working, I'm now ready to actually start building.

I'll post some diagrams and photos of the Main Gear retracts this week. Work and other things have slowed my progress. My focus is now on the nose gear. Big challenge is the forward retract action and limited space for the 2.5 inch wheel. Also the lack of a scale nose wheel strut that is short enough but still has some shock action is just not readily available, so I made one to work with a standard Robart mechanical nose gear retract unit. I'll post pictures of this soon as well. I also started to blend the cowling into the Fuselage using a couple layers of 1/32 balsa. Initially I wasn't going to accomplish that final touch but doing the gear doors (and cowl flaps yet to be cut in) got it half way, so I'll probably carry it the rest of the way.
