Ok! What we have here on the bottom shelf from left to right:
Alphabet S400 with 800mah 8 cell nicad, RTF(hate it)
Sparky 400 motor and ESC only, ARF (awaiting funds to buy radio gear)
Top shelf, left to right:
010 trainer, powerd by a kyosho 12t buggy motor and 7 cell CP1700 ,RTF
Zagi LE ARF, awaiting some more work, all gear ready.
.40 size trainer(world models I am told), ARF but won't fly until i can afford a brushless big enough(i.e never)
bellow .40 size, the hulk of the original alphabet,R.I.P, killed by a wing fold at 20 feet.(hated it)

WOW! I can't count that far back! Started with control line in 1951 or so at age eight with a Testor's Sophomore 29 and a McCoy .29 (which I still have). Moved to R/C in middle 1950's with a Berkeley(sp?) Piper Cub powered by same McCoy and "controlled" (lol) by a Babcock single channel tone transmitter, tube receiver, cascading rubber powered cascading escapements and two tons of batteries. "Flights" consisted of hard "heave-ho"
; pilot running around holding transmitter up in air chasing radio contact with plane and occasional jerky turns, sometimes in the direction you actually wanted to turn. Of course, each turn meant a loss of altitude and most flights ended back on the ground with the engine still running. Gerat sense of achievement, though after each and every flight!

CURRENTLY FLIGHT READY:
Dave Platt .60 Spitfire
Aeromaster
Advance .40
Global .40 ME-109
EZ F-W 190
Olympic II 100" Glider
JEMCO .40 FW 190
Midwest Mighty Mambo (restored)

HANGAR QUEENS:
F-1 Midget Mustang
Banshee Pattern Plane
Kavan Jet Ranger Helo
Kalt Baron .30

UNDER CONSTRUCTION:
Royal KI-61 Tony (Hein)
Midwest (Ziroli) HE-162 Salamander DF
BVM Aggressor II (F-20) DF
Bud Nosen P-51
Graupner DELTA 2000 (pusher w/Wankel)
EZ F-82 Twin Mustang (almost finished!)
North East Tool Supply R/C Combat ME-109

STILL IN BOXES:
Royal Zero
Sterling P-63
Robbe Roja (124" glider)
Robbe ASW-19 (128" glider)
LEO (144" glider)
Model Tech Saphire II-4T ARF pattern plane
SureFlite P-39
ModelTech ME-109 Slope Glider
K&A Quest hand launch glider

plus many others ...too tired to keep typing!

Hey Navy7603,
Thanks for your story, that was quite enjoyable, and entertaining.
How far we have come, and what state of the art stuff we have to play with!
Even though their not R/C, I've been buying a few vintage balsa airplane "kits"
from a guy off eBay, made back in the 40's and 50's. These kits were not much
more than a 3 view, and a solid chunk of wood that was roughly preshaped to
look like a fuselage, and you had to carve this sucker into an airplane, and shape
the wings and stuff. I won't build them, just look at them from time to time to appreciate
the nice lazer-cut kits and arfs we have to choose from today.
To everyone that has responded, thank you also.
I haven't gotten any notices for a while from RCU about any replies, but I am glad to see that
the post is still in use. Please keep it going!
Will post some new pictures when I get the chance.

Hey Mikejdad,
You must buy a lot of jewelry! Do you have a system worked out, like a carat to C.C. or W.S. ratio?

Cool to see all you guys from all over the world too!

Red7Fifty, my name is doug. i've been looking for a descent .40 size P-40 and noticed that you had one listed in your fleet. i was wondering where you got it from, who makes it, (if still in production) and if not, do you know where i can get one? i really like the top flight .60 version, but with only having a .40 engine and a wife, i can't get the plane and a new engine. anyone want to trade for a wife?[sm=punching.gif] i also have:
GPM RV-4
model tech, maybe global(i think) messerschmitt with a o.s. 32. stripped and covered in tan monokote (awesome...it screams)[>:]
laser models colibri .20 trainer[/color]

wish i had access for pics, they all look really nice. maybe some time when i'm at home and not work...damn security settings!!if it doesn't want to fly, cram a bigger engine in it or throw it off a cliff and control it to the bottom!!

Default RE: How Many Airplanes Do You Have In Your Hangar?

Haven't done one of these lists in a while, and I decided it would be a challenge to come up with one off the top of my head (without going into the workshop). So here goes:

Airworthy (or at least close):
1. Thunder Tiger Pegasus trainer 70"
2. Sig 1/4 scale J-3 Cub
3. GP 1/4 scale Shoestring
4. Concept Models 1/4 scale Fleet Model 2 biplane
5. Dynaflite PT-26 (PT-19 conversion)
6. Byron Beech Staggerwing

Needs (some major, some minor) repairs:
7. Byron Pitts
8. Hangar 9 100" J-3 Cub
9. Hangar 9 80" J-3 Cub
10. Hangar 9 Taylorcraft
11. Sig 1/3 scale Spacewalker (still haven't admitted reality)
12. Byron F-16 Falcon ducted fan
13. Byron Mig 15 ducted Fan
14. Scratch (or Cambria?) 1/4 scale Piper Tri-Pacer
15. Flitecraft Cardinal
16. Byron Pipedream
17. Pica 1/5 Spitfire
18. Clark 1/4 scale Tiger Moth

On the building board (all levels of completion):
19. GP Lancair
20. Top Flite Stinson
21. Pica 1/5 Waco biplane
22. Scratch 100" Ki-61 Tony from Don Smith plans
23. Bud Nosen Champ
24. Revell PA-18 72"
25. Byron Pitts (another one)

In the box:
26. Top Flight Bonanza
27. Top Flight Cessna Skylane (well, 3 actually, kits of different levels of completion; don't ask)
28. Top Flight Stinson (I need to sell this ;-)
29. Ziroli Corsair
30. Ziroli AT-6 Texan
31. Ziroli P-40
32. Byron Ryan ST-M (2, I want to convert one to a PT-20)
33. Byron Beech Staggerwing (yep, another)
34. Byron Christen Husky
35. Reid Ercoupe
36. Balsa USA 1/3 Cub
37. Doss Steed P-51D (2, believe it or not)
38. IMP Tempest
39. IMP SBD Dauntless
40. CJM Sea Fury
41. Platt 1/4 scale Bucker Jungmeister
42. Condor 80" Trainer
43. Pac Aero Gee Bee Y
44. Jamara Pilatus Porter
45. GWS Tiger Moth (electric)
46. 3SeaBees Vickers Vimy
47. Dynaflite PT-19 (another)

That's all I can think of right now. Ack! Much worse than I would have guessed. Counting the multiples, it looks like I win (or lose, if you ask my wife )

I REALLY need to stop buying planes...

All flying, well, not at this very moment of course.

GP Shoestring W/ Saito 1.00
GP Lancair W/ Saito .91
GP Cub W/ Saito .72
GP Corsair W/ Mecoa .46
H-9 Funtana W/ Saito .91
Sig Kougar W/ Picco .40
Modeltech P-47 W/ O.S. 1.20FS
Pacific Aeromodels Laser W/ Zenoah G-23
(German Kit,don't know brand) Sptifire W/ Magnum .61FS

Several SPAD combat planes, all of which need constant attention.

Would like to have more, but simply don't have any more room in my garage storage closet. I think I'll be able to find more room elsewhere pretty soon.

RickVB,

Nice Staggerwing! Hopefully, in the near future, a company will come out with a Staggerwing ARF. If, and when, they do, I'll be one of the first to buy! I just don't have the time to build, or I would already have one. Nice job!

Actually, I picked up the unbuilt staggerwing kit because I thought it was a shame that the built one (the one in my avatar) doesn't have much detail (no interior at all; admittedly very difficult with this kit). I wanted to add it, but decided it would be less work to just start over with a new one. Stay tuned; I'll get to it sooner or later.

Well I'm 9 months in the hobby, but I have a few already.

Sig Somethin Extra (kit) OS 46 FX
GP RV-4 Saito 65 (still building)
H9 cub Magnum 61
H9 Aresti OS 46 FX w/pipe
GP Shoestring Saito "hunge"
Yellow Aircraft Giles (undecided on engine)
Sig 1/6 cub (going with military scheeme & 4 stroke)

Just sold my Sig LT 40, kind of sad to see it go, it was my first one, but it went to a good friend. Maybe it'll be around for awhile.
