The Sig T-Clips 70 thread

My T-Clip 70 has arrived. And it looks great! Very strong packing. This is going to be my winter project so back in the box it must go.
I'll watch this tread to see how everyone decides to power the bird. I have a couple of .61 options, an OS 70, and then there is electric. Although electric is tempting it may cost more than I can afford. Todd

I think I will do a build thread on it, I have a lot of pictures to post. I am still undecided on what to power it with, that 4 stroke Saito Gas is tempting, but not sure If I want to dish out another $400.

This is page 3, so starting a build thread puts the pictures and details of the actual plane on Page 1. The first 3 pages of this thread really have no information related to the actual plane itself, and many will just move on after the first page.

I don't know Tom Crump or Bcolici could update their first post to mention the build starts on page (whatever) and then people could skip ahead to the build if desired. I went by my LHS yesterday the owner didn't know they were shipping the new T Clip and immediately started gathering an order.

Acdii has already started his thread.
If you guys agree, let's roll with it for construction. We can continue general conversation about the T-Clips, here, and it won't clutter up the assembly thread.

That's kind of where I was going with it. this thread has a lot of discussion, primarily about what to power it with.

Everyone is free to do as they wish.
I thought it would be easier to look in one thread for info on this model, whether it be on what to power it with or as well as builds
Less cluttering the forums that way.
One place for info.

Lol. 8 min flies by for me ,literally. The aerobatics keep me from falling.asleep.
The power is amazing that these little brushless motors can make.
I recommend a watt meter if you don't have one for your electric setup.
Just make sure your esc and batteries are up to the task for the amp draw of the system.
I don't mean to offend, just trying to help as you said you fly glow and gas.
My only concern is that people have reported that the smaller T-Clip has a bounce on landing. I have seen this in the videos as well.
I'm hoping the larger one doesn't do this.

Another thing I adopted recently is Anderson (power pole) connectors. No more soldering. With the Anderson crimper, I changed at least 20 connectors in no time flat. A real pleasure. Plus they connect and disconnect like a charm! Particularly great for the 5000 ma cells that have a thick cable...

Well, after several years worth of absence from the hobby, I just came back from LHS where I placed a T-Clips 70 on order. Should be here in a week or two. Most (ok all) of my current planes (with large layers of dust on them) are electrics. However, I've got a Saito FA-100 sitting on the shelf that has a grand total on 1 flight on it. I'm thinking that it should be right at home tugging one of these around the South Texas sky making noise

Thanks for showing those mocked up on the nose. I am still leaning towards my Saito 100. My other option with items on-hand would be a NEU 1912/1Y that's been looking for a home for ages. It should spin a 15x8e prop on 3S without breaking a sweat though at the expense of carrying a large amount of mAh (not to mention going out and investing in new batteries & esc, mount, etc.)
