Default A&D Aircraft, 20cc G.B. R3

So I did it. I went and bought me an ARF
I'm usually a kit guy, but who has the time?? Besides, she looks cool haha

I was reading about how some pilots had issues with this model's in-flight behavior. It turns out that aligning the huge wheelpants is crucial to a pleasant experience. Getting those mounted and aligned was the biggest challenge The hardpoints for the flying wires are weak at best, but I've left them as is 'cos I'm too impatient to fly her before the northern Illinois weather turns cold.

Got some nice Hitec digital servos in there; HS-7966HB in the wings, and 635HB's everywhere else. Running a Hangtimes A123 pack... and a Saito FA-125a in the nose. Xoar 16x6 prop, Dave Brown spinner, and a PA fuel dot just for bling .

Hopefully this one will be fun- I will update with a flight report very soon

Lol. Thanks. I have a feeling getting this bird to fly right is going to be the biggest challenge.

At least if this thing turns out to be a waste, I still have good components for the next model

...aaaaannd I crashed it. Everything looked good on the bench: servo throws, CG, etc. But after takeoff all it wanted to do was knife-edge, and no amount of trimming would help. I think maybe a wheel pant might've come loose after takeoff, but we'll never know for sure because it eventually snapped and crashed into the trees. A couple servos will need new gearsets, and the engine needs a new pushrod tube. Not my best day!!
