Sort of funny looking over the servo requirements for this bird - they recommend Futaba 3305 servos and this is their specs...

Looking at it closer, I think it is Great Planes way of saying, use servos that are at least this. Modelers have to look and decide what they can spend on servos and such. So I think it's valid, but I would have to agree, more torque, more money, might be better.

The Tactic TSX 45BB running on a 6 volts LiFe battery system., have work great for me!! As you read the manual on any new ARF, they always go for the top on the line equipment and its up to the modeler to come up with what is best for them. But one thing I tell anyone who ask me, is not go below the recommend torque they call for!!

Like I said before, you will love this plane and will have fun with her. On the flaps setup, you don't need them!! She do slow down very nice without them.

Y'all,
I haven't said much lately about the Escapade but after a month and a half of flying it IT IS ONE OF THE GREATEST PLANES i HAVE FLOWN. My favorite plane remains the Balsa Nova with VVRC20 cc but the Escapade is pushing for first place.

Hay Joe,
A friend tried to order one last week and was told that once again they sold out and are on back-order for a month or so. I haven't verified it ............but he is presistant and would have one if possible.

I don't use the "Pants" due to partial flying off grass, just asking for problems! Our flying is coming to a stop soon, weather has changed a lot and getting cold meaning snow will soon arrive, crap! I will try and get in a few flights if possible.

My club field is a 1400ft grass runway and I have had no problem with the stock gear!! Wheel pants on grass will give you some pain!! But it flies great with or without them!!

Mine has the 35 ra with a 19 in. prop. I fly off grass and asphalt. I put on 3.5 wheels and all is well and the gear is quite substantial, the extra height works out well for my field. (the paving really wears out tires)
You most likley would have to fabricate gear if you intend on going that way..............

Finishing up my escapade with the 35ra up front. Just was wondering where everyones balance was? i am using HItec 625's and 645's and using 6v 2300 nimh on ignition and receiver. seems like im going to be nose heavy. it will be going on the balancer this weekend. Ignition battery is right in front of fuel tank. Wondering what everyone did to make theres balance in a decent range 4 1/2 - 4 3/4? I was thinking i could put ignition battery on back tray with receiver battery in front of rudder servo. Let me know your setups !!!!
P.S. - This thread has made this plane a breeze i.e. running the plug wire etc. for the 35ra and other small details that could have caused problems. Thanks in advance!

My set up is as shown in the pictures. The ignition module is mounted to the underside of the fuel tank tray. One 7.2V battery in the front and a 3000 mah 6.6V Life battery in the rear beside the receiver. The picture shows a 7.2 V that I had beside the Rx while waiting for the Life battery to come in the mail. I temporarily needed it for testing the rates etc when I was building it. The other difference is that I put flying wires on the tail which added a bit of weight to the rear. That put it at the balance point on my plane at 4.75". Once I flew it a few times I found I would like it back a little more. I will either move the ignition battery back or take out the choke servo and put in a manual linkage.
