Phoenix model 1/4 MXS
Well, thoroughly searched and found no info on this plane:

Tower was running a May special. With discount coupon, price came to $116 with FREE SHIPPING! Just to damn good a deal for a 1/4 scale model to pass up.
I also picked up an RCGF 20 cc SBM from a Hobby People sale last month, $167 also shipped free.
Anyone else have this plane? It seems very similar to Phoenix models 1/4 edge , which has a favorable track record.
May have to do a build/flight log if no one has any experience.

My Feedback: (2)
My experience with Phoenix has been generally well built planes, that are just a hair heavy for my tastes. If this plane will actually come in at the weight they advertise (6.5lbs+-), that would be spectacular and should be a really nice flying plane. Even if it comes in 2lbs over that, it will be a really nice flying plane (assuming the rest of the specs are accurate).
Interested in how you make out with it.

I purchased one from Tower during the special as well, $115 shipped! I put a DLE 20RA in mine and did the maiden flight on Sunday. The air frame seems to be constructed well but I believe the advertised weight is a misprint. I will need to weigh it but there is no way it is in the 6 pound range, probably more like 11 pounds. It is a nice flying plane but I only have three flights on it so far so the engine is far from broken in yet. The DLE 20 pulls it nice with almost unlimited vertical. I have a 16 x 6 prop on it now for break in but I believe a 17 x 6 will be even better.
