What to do with my aeroworks 30cc edge 540???
I have an aeroworks edge 540 30cc that has not been completed
nor do I have the skills to fly it.
Ive been away from the hobby/forums and just found out yesterday
that AW has closed.
If I finish this plane and some day fly it and need parts Im screwed.
Should I get rid of it or keep it for the future???

My Feedback: (1)
Jimmy, If you think about it, your situation with with no replacement parts available from Aeroworks because the company closed is no different than thousands of other ARF flyers who are flying older now out of production planes from companies that are still in business but have stopped producing the model they have. The replacement parts for an out of production ARF dry up real quickly as soon as the plane is not being sold anymore. I have lots of older discontinued Hanger-9 and Great Planes ARFs that I am still flying (I flew 2 of them today), and if I damage one I know I can't just pick up the phone and order a replacement part. The companies are still in business, but they have no parts for discontinued planes. SO, #1, be careful and don't crash. When that doesn't work you get creative and adapt non OEM parts to fit and work, search the swap meets for parts, and build the needed parts yourself. Not as easy as picking up the phone but that's the way it is. So if you want to fly the plane when you feel comfortable that your flying skills are ready for that plane, go for it. As long as you don't auger it in (crash really hard), the small stuff that happens can be fixed.

As you progress in the hobby, you will realize that nearly all models have a termination date. You bought the model because you liked it. I wouldn't let the fear of crashing deprive you from enjoying your Edge.
I suggest that you work your way up to developing the skills necessary to fly this, and go have some fun with it.
