My Tru-Turn spinner worked out well, except the 10/32 bolt to attach the spinner was about 1/2" too short and it was bent (the bolt that came with it was only 3" long). Scrounged around and could not find a 3 1/4 or 3 1/2" bolt in my shop. Local hobby shop only had 3" bolts. Finally found a regular, fully threaded 3 1/2" bolt at a local Tru-Value hardware store.

Attached both the throttle servo and ignition module on the firewall. Hard to see the throttle servo in the photos, so I'll take another one later.

There is no real flexibility to move the cowl attachment to the fuselage around, as you have to match up the stripes in the extend tails of the cowl, so be sure you drill your engine mounts accurately. Drilled mine spot-on (measured and lined up three times to be sure) and the engine could have been mounted about 1/8 inch higher, but it still looks like a good match.
Hello, new boy on the block today!
I too am starting a build of the RV4 c/w DLE40. Can you advise the length of the standoffs you have used please?

I used 1 3/4" standoffs to get the DLE-40 to the 7-inch mark and match the cowl.

Flew mine again this past Saturday, in very light wind conditions (right down the runway). On these flights, I had all of the batteries in the forward location, sitting about 3" behind the fuel tank. With and without using flaps, this ship is a real floater, so plan your landings carefully.

I moved mine up quite a bit to get ti to where i was happy. I'd consider the recommended CG that back end of a range.

I'd have to measure it next time i put it together. It needed some weight up front with the Evo 33 though

Question CG location

[QUOTE=flypilot;12368504]Maiden done, love this plane...flies really nice with this engine..

Where was your CG? I'm at exactly 6" from the leading edge and if I move it 1/16" forward, it is tail heavy and 1/16" back it is nose down time. The model was inverted at the time.

Don't be afraid to experiment with it a little forward and fly it. The wide wing gives you plenty of range

She is ready to go! With a full tank she ought to be slightly nose heavy.

Yea, I don't remember a range but I do remember that it flys better ahead of 6"
