Thanks!  I found the gear you are talking about but it comes in two sizes.  Of the 6 1/8" or 7 7/8", which did you get to safely clear the 22" prop on your 50cc?

FYI
The landing gear for the Patty Wagstaff Extra will fit. I used it.
Tower Hobbies stock #LXBNB4 $15.99 plus $4.99 shipping.

Those are good on the Extra for a 22" prop?

I used the taller ones, the 7 7/8". Regarding the Patty Wagstaff gear, I have no experience with them, but I will say the the TNT gear were twice as thick as the original gear an FAR stronger. The original gear could not stand up to 'less than perfect' landings. I re-bent them quite a few times on my first Extra. Then tried carbon fiber gear that were better than the original, but ended up delaminating (I guess I'm just a heavy lander). After using the TNT gear, I wouldn't go anywhere else. They have taken all the punishment I have given them and never complained. (boy... I should get a commission from TNT don't you think!).

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

THanks again for the info.  I will likely get the TNT's.  The 40cc I got isnt performing very well for me.  I'm going to try one more tuning session at the field this weekend and if I can't get enough power out of it I'm going to get a DL-50.

Larry!  I totally forgot about the cowl session today!  Doesn't matter much, as I ended up working later than usual but I'm sorry I forgot to call.  And the fact that I'm not so sure about this engine will delay any cowl cutting too.

I will be out for sure on saturday.  I'll call and let you know when.

Hey guys thanks for all your help, I will probably get this plane now that I am sure it will fit. I love the way it looks in the air and on the ground and this forum has been extremely helpful. Good way to get into larger scale, Now I can finally fly with the wind I deal with everywhere I go!

Thanks again

If you have the 2.10 (great engine) Pick up the newer extra.....Perfect for that plane....

I think there are better alternatives for the Gene Soucy, the wingloading get too high in a hurry...

Which newer Extra are you refering to? Do you have an example of better alternatives to the Gene Soucy? Thanks.

The Great Planes Extra 330S GP/EP Sport 3D ARF 79.5", is the latest release of there "Performance series"
Designed up to 50cc engines in mind, It has ALL the newest construction Techniques (using lots of plywood and spruce stringers)
creating the "open" design look that ALL new aerobatic ARF's have......

I had issues with this at first, but it is every bit as strong as the Fully sheeted with balsa, fuse that this one has....

Here is the link and some picts....

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTAW7&P=0

I have posted a couple picts from 2-diff. aircrafts.....BOth are great planes......One is the older standbye of building, and the other is the new 1.60glow/45cc Extra
from great planes.....

Again, the GS "older" extra is a great plane as it has no nasty habbits, but a heavy one does....
Get the newer one, and it will float with the best of them, and look good doing it.....
Obviously, you can go any direction you want to with manufactures......
My personal favorites are the Extreme flight aircrafts......There 50cc is big as a 80-100cc plane but under 18lbs!!!!
They are the best in the business IMHO.. but many others believe it to be as well....
your moki, would work wonders in that one as well...
Link for them....
http://www.extremeflightrc.com/
See if you can Identify the "open" Ply/Spruce building tech... which gives a much lighter plane and every bit as strong....

If you sign up as a Tower Super Saver Club, they e-mail you codes for discounts. If over $300 they have a $60.00 coupon, plus I had a $20.00 certificate from last year laying around. I added a couple of small cheap items to take the total over $300, $309 to be exact, and used both discounts plus Free Shipping if the order is over $149.00. Essentially paid $199.99 for the Extra. I let the Super Saver Club membership expire since last year, but was $9.95 to renew. The Free shipping comes in handy. A pretty good deal I would say...

The 1.60 shouldn't have a slow response if it's propped and tuned right. I have one in this same plane and for aerobatics it's right on.

What happened? I tried to buy this model & GP said they took it off the market. Have a Saito 1.50FS just waiting for this bird or anything like it. Suggestions?

[link=http://www.gravesrc.com/GPMA1365_GP_EXTRA_300S_1_6_ARF_p/gpma1365.htm]Graves RC[/link] has one in stock.

If you google the part # GPMA1365 you may find others with it in stock as well. Though I'm not sure your 1.50 Saito will do this heavy plane justice.

I've had this plane for since about 2005 and it's a great flyer. I'm sorry to see GP/Tower discontinue the model. It was a great deal for the price in a 1/4 scale model.

I hope they keep spare parts a bit longer!

Jeff

Yes, Chief Aircraft has them in stock. Price is $379. Tower had it at $279 less $ 50 coupon for a great deal of $229. My Saito. 1.50 probably will not be enough. Does anyone have an option for the Saito 150? Prefer an Extra or Edge.
Thanks
Norm
