I picked up a new lt40 with the bolt down wing at perry for $65.It was missing the landing gear and the ins.the only thing i need to know is the rec.CG.Got the plane so i could drop a rc skydiver from it.Already installed a saito 72,and built extra tall landing gear.any help on the CG would be great!

I sold my LT40 and the book for it last year. So I can't give you the mesurments. But its on the center of wing spar and after you fly it you can move it back farther if you want it more areobatic.

Yeah, Jody, just balance it on the spar. With that big four stroke, expect to put the battery well behind the servos.
I pulled the .40 two stroke out of mine, and will plug in a 12-year-old 48 Surpass I recently resurrected. Naturally, I cannot find my book either. But using the spar will get you in the ball park without any worries, and you can fine-tune from there.

Jody,
The CG is 3 1/2 to 4 1/4 from the leading edge.Start at 3 1/2.This is for the kit.I don't know if you got a kit or ARF,but it should be the same for both.

cool,i had a 72 and thought with the added 2.5 pounds of the jumper/release box and servo that this might work good together.I wont to ballance and fly the plane and then try to get the same C.G. with th jumper in place so that the plane flies the same with or with out the skydiver.

I didn't get mine down to actually see where it ended up but the other guys are probably rite,it usually ends up on the spar. Those numbers I gave you are out of the manual (kit).
I busted my wing in half a couple of years ago and took it home and layed it flat on the table and put the glue to it so it doesn't have any dihedral.I like it better this way. It's perfectly flat across. It'll work this way very well if your ever tempted.
Have fun
