Hello,

We have some really experienced saito users in our club and they say that if tuned properly the 30% actually allows the engine to run cooler. The added Nitro has a cooling effect.

You are going to love this plane. I am on my 3rd one and can't get enough. It just fly's well. It's not a fat winged 3der but does some 3d with great snaps, knife edge spins and flat spins. It's friendly in the tip stall area and lands nicely. It also handles wind well. Also, it knife edges very straight. Good luck and have fun.

Hello,

I have been flying this plane for about 5 months and have not had this issue with the spin. Maybe you are really tail heavy? I do upright and inverted flat spins as well as knife edge spins. If you use the full 45 degress of elevator you probably will have problems with the flat spins though. 40 degress seems to be plenty.

I would say a little more aerobatics than 3D. However, it hovers and 3d's a lot better than my Funtana 40 3d ever dreamed of.

A tru turn 2 1/2 will fit the cowl and an apc 16x4 nicely.

Go for the Pacific. The Funtana 40 is a tip stalling maching that really doesn't compare to the quality of this airplane. I've had 1 Funtana 40 and 3 Pac Edges and I just bought another.

I am running the 645's on 6 volts and I think they are great. Go for it.

Hello,

I recently went through the exercise on the waterfalls. I increased the elevator to 60 degrees and went for it. It didn't work. The plane flew a lot worse. It was terrible. Then, after some common sense set in I went back to 40 degrees where I can knife edge spin, flat spin both ways etc. I think to get a good waterfall you need to be really tail heavy to get the momemtum of the tail swinging around. On my Harrier 3d, which is dangerously tail heavy, I can waterfall all day no problem. However, it wasnt until I got it tail heavy that it started to waterfall well. IF you got the Edge that tail heavy you probably wouldn't be able to land it on a windy day.

Please let me know what you come up with.

hi all, i have the .40 size edge. i havent yet brought it home not needing any reparing.
first was a pilot error. it tip stalled while turing on final.
the next was was a missing muffler bolt. i know these have nothin to do with the plane. im just stating the annoying.
the next was the canopy falling of in flight, leaving a dent in the rudder[:@] (iv fixed this though), also cowl viabration making the screw holes chip away making them almost to big.
for you guys with the 40., what screws are you using, and do you do them up as tight as they will go and are you using any rubber washers?

Greetings to all,

I have had the 60/100 sized Edge for well over a year now and am enjoying it very much. I originally started out with a Super Tigre .75 up front but it was a bit sluggish. I swapped it out with a Super Tigre .90 about 6 months ago and that made a huge difference. Now, I am thinking of upping the engine again, maybe to a Thunder Tiger 1.20 and using the .90 on another model that will be part of my winter projects.

I am wondering if anyone else has tried a 1.20 +/- sized 2 stroke on this model and if there were any thoughts or concerns in doing so.

Please let me know and thanks in advance,

T.

As always, weight is the problem. The TT120 is 8.5 ounces heavier than the ST90. Add 4 more ounces in the tail to balance it and then add a bigger tank for that thirsty engine and you're looking at adding a pound to the weight of the airplane. The wing loading will be higher, the stall speed will be higher, it will land faster and snap easier and generally not be nearly as much fun to fly. You also have to pull that extra pound out of hovers and through vertical lines. Vertical performance probably won't be any better than it is now.

Try switching props instead.

Thx JRF

Yeah, I considered all of that and am just trying to get a feel for what I want to do. I fly at altitude so there is even more to consider as far as the power needed. I have tried many different brands and sizes of props and have found a few good combinations depending on what I am trying to do.

Anyway, I will figure something out or just leave it as is and continue to have fun with it.

Appreciate the reply..

Well i've got one of the edges from the new batch and I noticed that they tinted the canopy it looks very sharp, and the plane flies great and 3D is not to bad but it could be better but for flying sequences its great. I have also had problems with the Cowl screws they keep getting loose probablly from the vibrating from the Saito 100 so what did you guys do to fix this problem.

i think the stock ones screws for the cowl are too small, make sure the wood the screw into is hardnened. im using a corser threaded screw. do them up as tight as possible

Well now i've got it all fixed up what I did was use those rubber servo mount things that I had spare and they work great I think they stop the cowl from vibrating alittle to. The plane flies great and is very strong I've done some pretty heard blenders with it and its still alive Except for some of the wood breaking in the wing [&:] But its great and it is so easy to torque roll, Harriers are a little bit to snappy but I think thats because my Elevator's dont move in equal amount of throw and my radio is only a 6 channal so I cant mix it out, I couldn't get it to water fall that great either.

Hello All,

After much debate I have decided on the 60 PA Edge. The only thing I don't like about it is the red, white and blue color scheme because I already have built several planes with those colors but I can live with it. I have one question. Is the PA site the only or best place to order from? If it is I think I'm going with the Saito 100 combo for the fuel economy. I want to learn to fly IMAC more that 3D.

About waterfalls, I slave aileron to my elevator up with up and down with down about 30 deg. along with being tailheavy works good on my Hairrer 3d.

I was just installing my engine and drilled the mount in the wrong location, so I need a new mount. Does anyone know what kind of mount was supplied or what a good replacement would be be? I am running a Saito 100.

Thanks.
