Default H-9 P-51

I was in Sheldon's (where I live) when the first ones arrived. A guy was looking one over at the counter so I gave him a hand.
It was hard to see the detail because all the parts were so well packaged but I bought it anyway. Always carry a pocket full of money when going to your L.H.S., you never know what you can't live without untill you see it.
Anyway, this is the best ARF from H-9 to date. Beautiful covering and VERY light. The trim and colors are authentic, punch in P-51 Mustang in your browser and you'll run across a flight of 3 of these planes in formation.
I'm planning on using a YS 91 in mine but not sure yet.
Do a search in this forum on this plane and you'll learn all about this bird and what veryones doing to them.

Default Electric Stang Man...

Just got back from the annual air show at the Tom Cats field in San Jose where I saw a "battery operated" H9 P-51 fly.
It flew very well but for only a short time, maybe 8 minuets and then ran out of that electric stuff. The guy did a very nice job fitting a hatch in front of the canopy with spring loaded latches for battery access. Had olio struts on it too.
I'll stick with power plants that allow me to land when "I" want to!

Default Hanger 9's P-51 Mustang

I have two P 51's, The little WM with an ST 90 and the GSP with a OS1.08. Had this hangar nine been out last fall, I would have bought that instead of the GSP. I have seen 4 of these here lately. They all went in and hard. Not because of the plane but stupid pilots using them as a "second plane." These are excellent Arfs. At least a .90 two stroke. If it were a four stroke, I would personally throw in a 120. The only bad tendancy is they want to nose over bad on takeoff and landings. This is a CG thing since I had this problem on a WM Midget. I would go with it.

What is the reason for putting these big engines in a .60 sized airplane? Does it really need all the extra power, or are we just being power hungry?

I did the first flight on a friends the other day .He has a OS 70 4 stroke. The plane flew really nice.It kind of floats on landing but the only bad thing to me was the struts on the retracts. They had way to much flex and side play. every thing else looks fine.

I have the World model of the P-51 Mustang Dago Red. I fly it with a ys-91ac. For just fun flying, about 1/2 throttle. For plyon racing it is a rocket. The retracts are a little to springy as I have to rebend them after every landing to get them to fit back in the wheel well. It is a fun airplane to fly. Merl the Pearl

Default 40 size World Mustang

Here in northen Ca. they race these Mustang's with YS 1.20 engines in the unlimited class. They stay together, it's a miracle.

Default H9 P-51

I order a H9 P51 from my local Hobby Shop on 07/12/02. They are on back order. Bummer.... I can't wait to get it. I have a Saito 120 waiting for a plane. Is this too much engine and weight for a .60 size aircraft?
