Go to the 3D forum. They have a good thread going on this plane. I ordered one also and I am going to install a YS 120 that I have sitting around.

RE: Quique Somenzini Yak 54
I only have three flights on mine. I am running a Saito 1.80 with a Cline Regulator. Mine came out at 10.5lbs. This is plenty of power for this plane. I am still running it very rich. It has unlimited verticle at 3/4 throttle allready. I currently have a APC 18x6W prop on it. I want to try a wood prop in the 17x6 range. This should help with the spool up. I just wont know until the Saito is broke in a little more. As far as the airframe I haven't done a lot of 3D yet. The tracking is the best I've flown. It will knife edge as well as a Goldgerg Ult and that's saying something.
I used QQ rates from the manual and his expo on low rates is a little strong for my taste. I turned the expo down 10% across the board. My initial CG came out 3/8" behind his reccomended. I flew it there the first to flights. It wasn't snappy or anything bad but the ELEV trim changed during the flight. I added an extra battery pack above the engine to put the CG right on his spot. This cured the trim problem and the plane felt the same other than that.
BTW the 10.5lbs is with both battery packs. (1500 Futaba nicads)
Sorry to ramble on,
David
