Chief Aircraft, Are they really Chiefs, or just Indians?
Hello everyone. I was looking through some old magazines of mine doing some research on some gasoline engines. I came across an ad in the page about A 1.40 size Kitana ARF, (Wng Spn. 72"; length 66.5" engine size 1.08-1.60 2 Strk; 1.20-1.40 4 strk). The pice they had listed was $199.95 for this ARF. The last ARF I bought was a bit higher in price than that. The ad is from a company called Cheif Aircraft. I was wondering if anyone has one of these models, seen someone with this model, or know anything about the company and if it's a reputable one or not.

As far as they go as a company they're top notch [sm=thumbup.gif] [sm=thumbup.gif]... If they've got what I need, I'll order from them before I go to Tower or Horizon.
As far as the planes the "chief aircraft branded planes" I've never boughts one... They came out with that Kantana just after the H9 Funtana 90 came out..(probably to try and ride that wave)... I'm willing to bet it's not a bad plane for the money!

I think it's the same plane as Giantscaleplanes.com sells.http://www.giantscaleplanes.com/Katana_72.htm They are from a company called China Model Production.

yes it is the same plane that giant scale sells it is a awsome flying plane there is a good trhead on here it is long but worth reading

Indians I say,,, they didn't help me when I had problems, afyer i spent $400, they never called me back when they told my they would, and my friend has been waiting for a 80 inch World Models Zero fuse for some 9 months, it's been paid for this long...

Don't quote me on this one, but I was told by a fellow flyer that a ZDZ engine that they purchased through Chief was not covered by the standard warranty that RC Showcase covers. This was after a a major malfunction. If this is true, it would be of serious concern for purchasing large engines from them.

I have spent a couple grand with them and have had no problems. Nine months is an awfull long time to wait.
