Wow! did THAT link ever fail! Might be their server, the intro showed up when I deleted everything in the latter part of the link, but when I stopped the intro, it went right back to some huge error message.

Good luck,
Dave Olson

Wow!
That's a gorgeous Stearman. The site is still down, but I must ask, how much?
Is this the only covering scheme available, or do they have it as a ARC also?
Looks plenty good.

Whistling

It was $595.00 shipped if you order now (pre-buy). They are shipping mid Nov.

As far as I know that is the only way it comes.

Contact Rocco at Aero-works info@aero-works-com

You could always paint it in the blue-yellow Army scheme. This particular scheme is authentic to a certain degree. I've had an OS Sirius 325 radial in my posession for a while now just waiting for the right plane to come along, when I saw this one I believe I found it and ordered one. The landing gear is way off scale but appears to be beefy enough to support the plane. I'm trying to decide whether to put a collector ring on the engine or just run straight pipes. They had a great flight vid on their site at one point.

Seems like they could have put a little extra effort into making it closer to scale. The lower wing dihedral is missing, and those landing gear look like they came off a cheapo sport trainer.

From 500 feet away, who'll know the difference, right?

Hey Paul, just a word of warning. I do own one of these along with several other AeroWorks models. The Stearman is a rather fragile plane. The landing gear plate is made of lite ply and will fail on you in short order. My wings seemed loose upon arrival and required that I remove the covering (which I was going to do anyway) and I found many glue joints needing attention plus the spars used in the wings looked to be rather small compared to what I normally see in AeroWorks models. I had the Saito 325 radial on mine but it barely flew, I have since installed the 450 and it flys good.

Its a one of kind plane in that you don't find ARF bipes this large but it is not up to the QB standard that AeroWorks is known for. I hope in the future they consider a Stearman in the QB series but it looks as though they are focusing on their Python Bipe for the future.
Good luck, Jerry.

The ARC doesn't look half bad. If I didn't have a Fokker D VII from BalsaUSA on the way, I'd actually give this some thought.

I bought this plane at a swap meet in Perry, GA. It is a fragile plane and in some ways sorry I bought it. However, I am having trouble lining up the top wing so it is on a straight perpendicular plane with the fuselage. The struts may be the problem, there does not seem to be a right and left strut designated. Anyone have this problem. I have got an OS 5300 radial in it.
Thanks
Dean Harrell

Hey Dean,
The struts are not really pre-bent at the attachment point. As you have probably noticed they tend to not line up with the holes. On the first setup you need to just loosely attach all the struts to the top wing and then slowly tighten all the bolts. Once you do that the struts will kind of form to the fit of the wing and you should be set. Do spend some time reinforcing the landing gear area. That is a real weak spot.
Take care, Jerry.

Do you need the wing wires or can it safely fly without??
Thanks
Dean
